Final Update on Rekindling the Flames and Plans for the Future · 4:55am Aug 18th, 2020
It's finally done!!! Almost one year to the day it first came out, Rekindling the Flames is finally complete. I'm so happy reading all the positive responses to the final chapter and I'm so grateful to finally bring that Rekindling to an end. But is this the end of Flash and Sunset's story? Oh ho ho, not in the slightest!
When I first started writing Rekindling, I had a vision to create a grand Flashimmer story that would expand over three books. The first book was to get the ball rolling on their relationship, it would be the story of them becoming a couple and the crazy antics they and their friends would encounter on the road to get that goal. That was Rekindling the Flames. The second book, in my mind at the time, would follow them after high school and the first few years of their young adult lives. The third book was vaguer on ideas but I knew it was going to continue to follow them through life. Is this what I'm planning on doing next? Not entirely sure yet.
I will say this much: there are plans for a sequel. That much I know for sure. What I don't know is when I'll start writing it, let alone when the first chapter will release. For right now, I'm going to take at least a month break from Flash and Sunset and focus on my other story, Secrets of the Past. When I do start writing a Rekindling sequel, I will make an announcement on my page.
For right now, I'm going to take a break from the love and gush of Rekindling to the war, chaos, and destruction Secrets of the Past.
Sounds good to me. Congrats again on completing your story!
Then how come Secrets of the Past is cancelled? I was really looking forward to this, and am upset to see that you are not going to finish it.

Life happened. School is back in session and I'm working as a substitute. I don't really have a whole lot of time and energy to continue writing. Plus, I've lost a lot of direction for that story. I would rather have it cancelled than push brain through that would ultimately lead to me hating the story.

Fair enough. I know that feeling when life throws stuff at you and you don't have the time or energy to complete something. If you ever get a chance to complete it, though, you should because it's a brilliant story so far!
