Question and potential story idea based on recent events. · 6:18pm Jul 9th, 2020
Heads up: this blog deals with covid-19 and touches (but does not focus) on politics. However, I would prefer if we could avoid getting too much into the latter, and keep the former relevant to the idea.
Recently, Trump demanded that schools open in the fall, or else he will cut off federal funding to the ones that don't. However, for some reason, this got me thinking more in the opposite direction. By which I mean the end of this previous school year. How during the lock downs, students suddenly had to stay home all day, but attend classes on-line and continue their education.
This in turn, led me to a question, which in turn, I would like to ask you:
How would each of the Student Seven react to this? Specifically, if it was their senior year.
Question: how sure are we that Trump can actually do that? He's a compulsive liar and an idiot, it'd be completely on-brand for him to make threats he can't follow through on and either hope nobody calls his bluff or be genuinely unaware of his incapability.

I don't really want to discuss the politics on this, but I also can't resist answering.
According to a CNN article here:
There's more to it, but the budgeting it largely up to Congress. However, it says there are things he could do, which I don't want to go into.
There's actually a story exploring that very question.
But my take on it is Twilight trying to make a cure despite her expertise being in mechanical engineering, Sunset staying sane with streaming and the journal, Fluttershy focusing on her pets, Rarity driving her family up the wall for want of eyes to gaze upon her, Dash pacing like a tiger in an undersized cage, Applejack settling into a comfortable rhythm of chores and classes, and Pinkie...
Three words: Contents under pressure.
Though I imagine they'll all keep together via video chat.
Very badly. I think they would be driven up the wall with ennui after a few weeks. Also I agree with herald of opera the orange chimp that is currently shouting at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is all bluster and no bite.

A refusal to compromise even with the threat of death on the horizon (from both Trump and his more rabid supporters) is what got you lot into this mess. I get the feeling he's going to keep trying to do the impossible rather than act in his own best interests.
