By far my favorite creatures in all of FiM.
I have zero memory of at what point after I joined this fandom that these fellas really caught my attention.
I also can’t explain why I like them so much any more than I could explain what compelled me to join this fandom in the first place.
Maybe it’s because their unique futures give them an air of mysticism or exoticness.
Maybe it’s because they can be even more adorable than regular ponies.
Maybe it’s because they can make talking, colorful cartoon horses look legitimately badass.
It’s probably because of all of the above and then some. I think.
I currently have a total of eleven bat pony OCs: Raven, Pyra, Silhouette, Onyx, Skye, Aurora Borealis, Nightshade Borealis, Night Rider, Dawn Rider, Daboia and Eclipse. Some I plan to have appear in person, some are just a part of other characters’ backstories.
And by the way, it’s not Nightshade that is “canonically” the most dangerous one; it’s Daboia. Her name is a pretty big clue if you know what it means.
