A question to the Alicorn Scrolls readers · 7:35pm Nov 21st, 2012
The next chapter for Alicorn Scrolls should be up later today or tomorrow, which is as nice a news for me as it is for you guys who follow it XD mainly because it isn't a story I wanted to leave unfinished and there's still lots of chapters and story to cover.
That said there's a little something that has been nibbling at the back of my brain for a while: By now it is clear Khazur is not the dragonborn and this whole story is taking a different path than both the MLP canon and the Skyrim canon. I for one think my decision to make it its own unique story was a good one, since I don't have to follow a set path or guideline with it and just go all out in my "tamrielized" Equestria and Khazur's own high-fantasy adventure.
But what do you guys think? I must say, I'm not intending on changing the story's direction, but I would still like to know if this particular aspect was positive, negative, or just not important for you all.
Please comment with your opinion :3 it'll help not only for this story but for future projects as well.
I think it is very interesting, just the average life of a Skyrimer, not the high flung adventures of the Dragonborn. Though I do think a Lydia joke needs to be made. That or you see the occasional body fly across the sky because of giants.

Khazur will have his moments of pure epicness and a bit of high flung-ness, it would be a shame to not see a single daerdic lord in a Skyrim fic and all XDD but nothing like riding a dragon's back to sovngarde to kill the ancient embodiment of the apocalypse...
Also I know I said this before but I LOVE your loading screens you draw. They are awesome, I can't wait to see Khazy's perk tree xD
Using the original two source materials as a jumping off point was indeed a wise decision, as it gives you some serious creative freedom.
That being said, I am very interested as to where you take this story and I look forward to reading the new chapters. Also, I hope there will be Daedric relics: Everybody loves WABBAJACK!
I've always been a fan of this story and I especially love the brilliant concept of the Utility Horseshoe (seriously, that is an idea that REALLY needs to be used more). I like the idea of a Skyrim fanfic that DOESN'T focus on the Dovahkiin (it's just something that doesn't turn out very good 99% of the time) and it's good to have something that doesn't have to follow the same story that everyone already knows. Also, I think the idea of an Argonian protagonist is the best thing ever (though this may be a result of my positive bias towards herptiles).
Also, will griffons ever show up in the story? I ask because it's a pretty common idea in the fandom (or at least in the group that I'm a part of) for the Griffon Kingdoms to be very similar to Skyrim in terms of culture and climate. DAMN THE CANON MAP, the Griffon Kingdoms shall always be located to the North of Equestria!

oh there will be Griffons alright, but they'll have a little bit of a twist I hope you'll all enjoy. They'll likely show up in a loading screen soon enough if not in the story itself.
I am glad to see we agree. Though the Dovahkiin is the game's protagonist and all that, there's really not much of a character in the form of personality and psychology and all that other than what the player him/herself influxes. Besides I kind of see him/her as Link from Zelda: incredibly hard to represent well in a fanfic, though quite alright as a cool cameo.
