Well, allow me to enlighten you.
The Eurovision Song Contest started all the way back in 1956 as a way to unify Europe after World War II. As time went by, Eurovision became bigger and better, with more countries participating. The song contest is not just about vocals and the song, but also lyrics and the performance elements itself are what juries and people vote on. All the songs are original and the maximum length of each song is 3 minutes. A country that wins the contest gets the opportunity to host it in the following year. So far, the 2020 contest is the only one that's been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
You can check out their YouTube channel to watch the performances and the Wikipedia page for more info. Feel free to ask questions, either me or TheMysteryMuffin.
