May Update- A Return to Writing sponsored by the Lockdown · 7:53pm May 17th, 2020
Well Hello There!
I suppose I should explain what I have been up to in the preceding months. You know before the whole world ended and we were all thrown into arguably the greatest crisis since WW2, but enough about such trivial matters, what about the pony words.
First of all, a huge thank you to all those that loved All Good Things! I am so glad people liked my story, and it was really heartwarming to see the positive reception that it received. Five months late, but still a huge thanks!
As you may have guessed, I have once again become Houdini and disappeared actively uploading. Well not disappeared, I mean I still pop by daily to read and check on things. But from the writing aspect, things have been slow. Exams and work have kept me relatively distracted. That was until the advent of this awful pandemic.
The crisis has allowed me ample time to get back on schedule, so I am writing every day for at least an hour.
So yay!
I have several pieces that are near completion. Here is a shortlist of what has been written and where they are at. I’ll only give out the working titles as I don’t want to spoil anything that will be published soon.
-You’ve Got Debt [Comedy, Random]- Complete- An absurdist political comedy. I am debating whether I should reach out for an editor for this. But otherwise, it is complete.
-Of Celestia Bodies and Friendship [Comedy, Slice of Life]- Incomplete- An exciting look at Twilight's new responsibilities. First Draft complete, however, I am not content with the story at the moment. This one may take some time as I have run into some roadblocks.
-Something There That Wasn’t There Before [Comedy, Romance]- Incomplete- My first multichapter story on the site in 4 years! This one I am happy to announce is almost complete and will see me return to romance for the first time in ages. I have 5 chapters written. I am working on the 6th chapter currently and an epilogue. I want to complete the whole thing before publishing. I am also considering getting an editor for this too.
-The End of All Things [Dark, Alternative Universe]- Incomplete- In the initial phase of writing but feeling good about progress.
-What Matters Most [Sad, Slice of Life]- Incomplete- A Spike story, a spiritual successor to Who You Are. It fell back on the backburner for a while. I want to finish my other pieces before I jump back on this.
My main thing is I want to ensure that the stories I’m putting out are satisfactory so I didn’t want to rush things.
This had primarily been the scope of my work since the release of All Good Things.
I want to engage a bit more, so I may release a blog every month just to update where I am in writing and how each project is going.
Keep safe during the pandemic and here's hoping we have brighter days ahead!
