======== SAMPLE 1 ========

“We are not sure which way the air should be if the ice is so small—maybe the water that is floating in the sea is the way,” Luna muttered. “I guess when our ship got stuck in the glacier it was. It should have been ice but… why wouldnt it be if it was solid?” “I don’t know—I tried opening an elevator from the ice to the surface, but the ship wasn’t there.”

“Why don’t we find out where her?” Luna asked. “Or try getting her back… I’ll try to get a ship on the ice without docking. In theory, there’s no reason to think she’s gone before we get her back. It’s a waste of her energy, I want to save her for later.”

“Why don’t you take the rest of us to the shore and…” Luna asked. “I’ll try to get the boat off the glacier as soon as possible. The air should be up there now. The air should be fine. We’ll try to get back to the surface, if we can. I’ll ask you to keep the boat moving, or she’ll have to get too hot to breathe. Either way, the heat should be gone by the time you get back to the surface.”

“Let” go back out of the bridge and then let us take you to the surface. Then I can tell you to wait here for her. Please help me, okay? I don’t want to leave you behind.”

“I’m okay,” Luna replied. “I’m in here, I’ll find someplace I can stay. I’m not sure if I’m the right person for this, but I’ll be able to talk to you.”

“Goodnight,” Luna said, giving Luna a small smile as she left.

“Goodnight,” Luna told Luna’s sister before bed. Luna left.

“All right, I need to go over to the ship. And when we’re not in here, we need to talk to her, okay? I’m not getting the job done, I need to get this job done quickly before I can go home.”

“You are getting the job done,” Luna said as she left. “Thank you, you are an incredible friend and I hope everything will be okay. I’m going to stay on the ship, as long as possible until we get there. And I’ll go over and talk to you again in person to make sure the ship is OK.”

And with that, Luna disappeared.

“That’s not what I’m going to do. I’m not going to be able to say goodbye to her. Because I’m not going to be able to say goodbye to her and I’m not willing to say goodbye to anyone else in the process of talking to each other in private.” She was quiet for a few seconds and then the silence came back. “Okay, I’ll go back to the ship. I’ll talk to you again. And then I’ll be able to talk to you, okay?”

“You’re going to want a long talk,” Luna told Luna’s sister. “You’re going to want to be kind of careful about these things. I’m not able to say everything I’ll talk about as I’m talking to you directly. Your language is too hard to understand because that’s been difficult for me to work with, so I’ll just be trying to be as gentle. I’ll talk about the things I’m able to talk about at the moment, because you’re comfortable with that.”

“Yes,” Luna said. “I’m trying. I’m not even sure why I was going through this. I haven’t talked to anybody since her death. And I know you’re able to talk about it. So… I’m… I’m here. And I don’t want to have to go through that again. But your ability to talk about it has increased and I have a lot to talk about in private so I’m going to have to try to make things easier for you too. Because I’m not able to talk as well. I’ve been trying to make
