On My Writing and Hiatuses

So, this is a long time coming, and some people that are watching me might be wondering: why is Crash Landing dead and why is it just now being placed on hiatus? To put it quite clearly, I'm not quite confident enough in my skills yet to attempt a first contact story of that magnitude, especially with all the story details and world things I have planned. Flat out, I'm not good enough to do the concept justice yet, and I'd rather eventually show you all something that I can be proud of one day in that genre rather than showing you garbage now. Too many characters are introduced too fast and too many potential plot threads about the crash are in the air, to the point where I can't focus on any of them without potentially leaving another important story thread rotting on the vine and potentially killing the readers' enjoyment for the whole thing.

"So, what's next?"

Long story short, I'm going to write less intensive fiction with less in the air, although still fiction focusing on a proper storyline. It will help me practice so I can produce better content for you all in the future, as a big plus. I do have one thing currently being edited about one of my OCs since her backstory is ripe for a good story with less floating threads, and several things primarily about canon characters on the burner after a chapter or two of that are out.

Edit: On Dead Man Walking in particular, to address it as well? Although I'd love to bring it back one day, I wrote it mostly back in highschool and crossovers are very, very hard to do well, plus Deadman as a character was relatively flat and uninteresting. I'd have to have an extremely good idea on what to actually do with him in the modern canon of the show, as I generally dislike the idea of writing something set at a certain point of the show canon and ignoring or just retelling the show with a new character inserted from that point on nowadays.
