On the Gary-Stu-ness of Gary and Emeris · 2:43am Nov 18th, 2012
Just for fun, I took the ULTIMATE MARY SUE LITMUS TEST for Emeris as both Emeris and Gary.
Emeris scored an iffy 29 able to go a few points either way depending on how you defined some of his traits and future plot points.
Gary on the other hand... um... Gary scored 156. When 50+ is considered a lost cause...
... wow.
Just...
...
Wow.
I think that wow is an understatement but no one word yet exist to describe the shock at seeing that score.
513124 Infinite agree.
Correction: Emeris is about a 26, but as Gary it was even higher than that, I totally missed a third of the questions. Eesh.
I'm tempted to put the Mary Sue score that Emeris/Gary has at the top and bottom of each chapter to show where he's at... heh.

The scoring system tends to err on the side of too many points, though, and as always it's only a metric. Introducing a plot twist centered around your character adds like 20 points to your score.

While this is very true, Emeris did have those boxes checked, while Gary did not. It's mostly just something amusing, but I don't think I've ever seen a score that high for that test

I see what you're saying, though you might want to swap "Emeris" and "Gary" in that sentence.

Actually, no. Gary had no major plot points/twists revolving around him, whereas Emeris (eventually) will, as such, Emeris has those boxes checked, whereas Gary does not.
... unless I should check those because the GSE made the *world* revolve around the guy while he was Gary, in which case... uh... 150 somethin is pretty low
