Ever After Never Came

Firstly, if you haven't read Ever After Never Came, STOP READING. There are spoilers ahead!

This story is heavily based on my real life interactions with my father-in-law, who passed away from dementia several years ago.

In short, he and I never really saw eye to eye until after he was diagnosed. The scene in which Jesse thanks Pinkie for treating him like a human is almost exactly pulled from real life.

My greatest regret was that just when we began to understand each other, he passed away. I will forever be grateful for the time we had, though.

My hope is maybe some of you can read this and relate with your own experiences. Or if you've never been through something like this, it can perhaps help you understand the disease a little better.
