I am also getting

The Mass Effect trilogy has one of the best stories. · 3:35am Jan 26th, 2020

Mass Effect Andromeda might not have been that good but I have been playing the whole trilogy without Andromeda included and to be honest the more I play through this game series the more I can appreciate the story of Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3. I think what makes this game so good is that the story is really based around the players choices and so you will never have the same play experience as another player would. Just because you were able to be successful in saving someone doesn't mean that you're friend could save them as well. I mean very few games have really delivered the same experience as Mass Effect. Halo is one of the closest I can really think of but in the end you couldn't make your own decisions in Halo that would impact the story of the game but in Mass Effect the whole entire story of the game is your story and only your story. Playing Mass Effect games again have gave me a huge appreciation for the Mass Effect trilogy. The other thing is that stories in video games nowadays are almost nonexistent and if they are existent then it's a crapy story. There's been a few games that break this rule such as Call of Duty WW2, Titanfall 2, Halo wars 2, and hopefully Halo infinite. Mass Effect story has beaten all of these hundred times over and with so many story DLC'S for Mass Effect 2, and 3. You will be swimming in a sea of story paths you can take but at the end of the day. You're Mass effect story was yours and you experienced everything with shepard. All the friends of Shepard are your friends because you had to work to get to know them a little bit more better. Mass Effect is a game that you can spend hours in and has never been successfully replicated in other games before. The Dragon age game series tried its best to replicate it but it in the end failed because it didn't feel like it was your adventure. In Mass Effect you have multiple choices and you have to live with the consequences of those choices. Mass effect is a true piece of art. I mean when you played this game and a character that was part of your crew dies. It isn't just to the fact that its it's sad but more to the fact that the game me you feel like you knew them personally and you're watching them die on the screen. Mass effect does something NO other game was able to do. Mass Effect makes you feel like Shepard is truly you and you sometimes have to watch your best friends die on screen incept you have personally grown attached to this character so it feels like your losing a friend in real life. The story of Mass effect is a time classic and deserve more attention and a better continuation then Mass Effect Andromeda. I have heard rumors of a new Mass Effect game in development that will have nothing to do with Andromeda. Let's hope that if Mass Effect is getting a new game it will live up to the original series. So, I didn't read the whole block of text, but yes; Mass Effect 1-3 had some of the best sci-fi stories I've ever seen. The books, even, aren't that bad, expanding on the universe in an interesting and unique way. One, I believe, is even told through the perspective of Saren before he finds Sovereign.

Andromeda is... bad. Bad for many reasons, but it's just... nope.

The biggest issue with Mass Effect was the third game's ending, which threw the character's previous decisions out the window for an ending that felt anticlimactic and silly in comparison to the epic space opera we'd been playing up to that point. It was a slap in the face, and many fans couldn't stand how infuriating that was, myself included.

True but the real question is would the third game have so much of the impact that it did in the story if Shepard was alive? The answer is of course No it wouldn't have. Mass effect is considered to be a Epic and Shepard is the Epic hero. The rule though with epic heroes is that they have to die at the end and as for the decisions well here's the thing. Mass Effect has always been big on giving you a personal stake in the story but in the end it came down to what you thought was right. The ending couldn't have been changed because the story would be compromised if it was changed. The writing behind the idea was a very suitable ending. I mean look at Halo 3 a lot of fans consider Halo 3 to be the last of the Master chief story and for a good reason as the Master chief is indeed as well a epic hero.

5192175
Oh, no, that's not my issue with it. Besides, Shepard isn't dead; there is a brief scene of him taking a breath in the stinger at the end of it all.

No, my concern is how little your decisions meant. I expected a scene where all your decisions came to a focal point and you are judged. Will Shep be found wanting, or would the Crucible aid him? Imagine this scenario instead; rather than the random showdown (that made no sense, might I add) with the Illusive Man, we have a scene where Shepard is confronted with a real issue; indoctrination.

This was a popular theory, used to explain the sudden tonal shift about fifteen minutes prior to the end. The theory went as such; Shepard has spent so much time in the presence of Reaper tech, that it would only make sense that they'd eventually get their hooks into him. In those last fifteen minutes of gameplay, you are actually hallucinating, while the Reapers control Shepard's mind. The Illusive Man doesn't kill Anderson. The Crucible is the voice of the Reapers. And the "Good" option to sacrifice yourself is actually the Reapers convincing you that dying is the right choice. Problem is, when asked by the fans if this was the case, the team at Bioware outright said it didn't happen that way. If they had just left it ambiguous, people might have been talking about the subversive nature of ME3's ending and how it changed expectations... but by denying it outright, the team over at Bioware made the message clear: this is the ending, whether you like it or not. They even got hostile with fans who protested the games ending, asking for a better one. The ending of ME3 literally caused riots.

And then there are a few major plot holes that the crew needed to patch up with a DLC; that's just lazy writing. There was a point when Shepard is hit with a Reaper blast, and his Squad just vanished. At first, people thought this was the start of the Indoctrination scene, but nope. The screw at Bioware just forgot to explain how they escape back to the Normandy. In the DLC, they included a new scene, where the Normandy swings by to pick them up.

The whole ending seemed lazily done in comparison to the rest of the story at large. In terms of writing, it was piss-poor, once you set it beside the rest of the games and their writing.

5192182
That's not a theory that is what I like to call a non canon ending. Bioware actually said that this was a scrapped ending of Mass Effect 3 but Bioware then decided that there wouldn't be many people who would have liked that ending and so they scrapped it but sadly due to the fact that this was the time EA was going full empire on their group's. Mass effect 3 was forced out on to store shelves Whether it was read or not. EA has done this with a lot of games such as Dead space 3, Mass effect Andromeda, and other games.

5192188
Huh, I didn't know it was a scrapped ending. I thought they just outright said that it wasn't the case. Something new every day.

I just felt kinda hurt by the ending. EA is the rear-end of the gaming world; they are money-grubbing and fail to consider quality. It's a shame that the Mass Effect series was in their hands, and not a more reputable company's.

5192191
A lot of there best games have been destroyed by them. Two of the games being the Dead space series and The Mass Effect series. Mass effect 3 was lucky they only got pushed to release the game even if it wasn't ready but Dead Space 3 was going to be the best Dead space game in the series until EA pretty much hijack the development of Dead space 3 from behind the scenes.

5192198
Their current practices annoy me. In Apex Legends, it's $20 to buy a cosmetic skin. :ajbemused: I dislike you, EA.

5192203
Really I played Apex legends a long time ago and there wasn't a paywall for anything you can get the cosmetic stuff through in game currency that you get through playing the game is this not the case anymore?

5192209
Oh no, it still is. However, the currency supplies at such a slow rate, that it'll take everything you have to save up for one golden skin. They also have these new events that are strictly pay-wall cosmetics, earned through a random Pack. To get all the items and the unique Heirloom at the end, it costs upwards into the range of $300+.

5192216
Well I guess Apex turned into a glorified Fortnite.lol

5192218
*sighs* Seriously. It's a massive headache. Worst part is, people validate EA by buying their garbage en-masse.

5192220
So basically Epic with Fortnite?

"this is commander shepard and this is my favourite shop on the citadel."

only true mass effect gamers knows where this lines come from .are you?

5192182
thank you for telling me that shepard lives .i was under the impression that shepard died .you have no idea how much this means to me

fortnite ,where virgins play games

5192257
Yup. It isn't something you just get, but there is an ending where Shep lives.
