This is just me writing into the void.
It's been a long time since my last visit. I'm not so much a brony anymore but still appreciate the fandom. I've been clearing out my online trail and found this little treasure trove. Not sure who I'm writing this to; maybe an old friend stumbles on it, or just a random traveller on the internet plains.
Back in these days, I kept ranting on about conquering procrastination on my blog and to others, but I never followed my own advice. I could never understand why I hadn't found that elusive 'drive' that people went on about. Looking back, I was never searched. I was waiting for 'drive' to discover me. And that never works out.
The trick is there is no universal trick. You've got to find the combination of tricks and habits that work for you. One of mine? Just start with a sentence. Just write that one page a day. Can't manage that? A paragraph. Just write a little special something every day until it becomes routine.
Things have been going okay. I've written full-length creative pieces that have been somewhat well-received on a local scale, which is perfectly fine with me.
If you're struggling with making your way in the world, whatever your outlet, keep going. FIMFiction gave me a place to be open about my ideas and writing, and experience some pretty impressive writing myself which I'm thankful for.
I don't know if I'll be back, but just know I'm rooting for your work from across the way, or from Kind Words (lo fi chill beats to write to) - seriously, have you checked out that game? It hella tight.
Catch ya on the flip side.
