Gender double standards piss me the hell off · 8:04am Dec 14th, 2019
These double standards are the reason why I don't want to be in a relationship or get married. What good would it bring if these biases exist in reality? This is the perfect example of what an unfair and cruel world looks like.
I remembered the times when both of my ex-girlfriends cheated on me and no one took it seriously. Some people even thought that I was the one who cheated on them, just because I'm a guy. It's also been another reason why I've questioned about my gender identity and sexual orientation, which led to people then thinking I was sexiest, which isn't true as I do respect women equally as everyone else. Film and television also represent men as violent and sex-pests when there are scenes of couples fighting or rape.

I'm so sorry to hear about what your exes did to you. I agree completely that the media portrays such outdated stereotypes that I really can't relate and shows toxic straight behavior that I find absolutely revolting.
Steven Universe has helped me be comfortable with myself and Rebecca Sugar's coming out has inspired me to come out as a non-binary and asexual person. So far, I've received nothing but love and support from my friends in FB and here. For that, I'll forever be grateful.
