Some background music. You're going to need it: we're going to be here a while.

    Status Update, April 2024 Edition

Part of my slowness in writing M.L.G.'s latest chapter is for the usual reasons: tiredness, minor depression, having other things on the mind, that sort of thing. However, in what can only be described as "whimsy", I've recently decided to complete a list of all of the intentional shout-outs and references in the story as of the most recent chapter.

    Something To Think About

I have a message to share with prospective authors. If you go into writing a story---be it as a living, or just for fun---don't automatically assume that what you're doing is wholly original.

    Tired, Running On Empty

That pretty much summarizes my mental state of the past few days. Constantly tired (half due to not getting enough sleep and half due to my walking regimen), and I can't really think of things I want to write for the story. You know you're having trouble finding things to talk about when your brain fishes for tuna, but ends up with guppies instead.

Why I Will Play Pokemon Sword · 2:44pm Nov 18th, 2019

What with all the gripes on Pokemon Sword/Shield's quality, the lack of around half of the Pokemon in existence or so, etc., I'd just like to offer my own opinion in the form of a quote from a story elsewhere on the Internet. It shouldn't be too hard to see what my decision is regarding the game:

----

"Oh, that's easy: that cr** just doesn't matter to me, Tsuru. You know that. Absolute Justice, Lazy Justice, Moral Justice, whatever, it's all bunk and opinions and stuff. Me? I'll just do what's right and keep following the same thing I always have: my gut."

--Monkey D. Garp, "This Bites!" Chapter 42, by Xomniac and the Cross-Brain

----

To put it simply: I don't need a reason to play it, nor do I want an excuse not to. I'm not going to let the decisions of Game Freak or The Pokemon Company, or the fanbase's love of snap judgments, decide that for me.

That's it for now. Ciao mein, everyone.
