"Short" Q&A. · 9:03am Nov 11th, 2019

I would like to profusely thank each and everyone of you for not only your opinions and comments but time. Also I would like to apologize, I have been unavailable to answer your comments because of obligations coinciding with the current holidays. Also being a combination of other factors involving my chosen avocation.

I've had a few inquiries as to my motivation for writing this story as well as a few others in my inbox I would like to address in a "short" Q&A.

Warning, rant inbound.

Q. Why?

A. First we must acknowledge the type of personality that I possess. I am of a dominant mindset and it is because of this that when I have encountered in the past stories where a human is possessing of submissive traits, I find them to be at best irritating and at worst infuriating. (It is not the most intellectual of the species that survives; It is not the strongest that survives; The species that survives is the one that is able to adapt to and to adjust best to the changing environment in which it finds itself.) It was Charles Darwin who proposed this concept yet when you combined the strength of both body and mind with the ability to adapt then that is indeed what has enabled us to become the apex predators and dominators of our world during both the peaceful and lethally hectic times of our evolutionary development. It is because of this that I both know of and recognize traits such as dominant and submissive personality types that I in no varying degree think such stories to be lesser relative to others. They simply do not fit a narrative that my mindset is compatible with. To each their own and Que Sera Sera, I say.

My areas of Interest lay in the more visceral and bestial genres of literature. And because of that my writing style would therefore dictate a reflection of that interest. It is when a human is placed in this kind of universe, reality, spatial plane whatever you wish to call it and not immediately and fervently seek the answers to the obvious questions such a situation would yield and do whatever is necessary to enable such, is disappointing to say the least. As a species we balance on a fine razors edge between our own fear of the unknown and our inquisitive nature. In the end I could have answered this question with the simple response of "I wanted to write a story that I would want to read." An answer I'm sure has occurred innumerable times before. But giving you the real answer needed a bit more of an explanation behind it. Not because I think you incapable of reading between the lines. I just wanted to give a more encompassing explanation because I think that you, my readers are worth it. So you asked "why?" and here is my real answer. I think a far more dangerous weapon than any spell, blade or claw is that of a sharp mind, with which our species are uniquely gifted. And as the saying goes; "A mind is a terrible thing to waste."

Q. Or rather O. for observation. "You brain good." I laughed at that one.

A. One should never make the mistake of thinking my ability to articulately soliloquize as having anything to do with my intelligence. It is my love for literature and decent memory recall that enables me to do so. If anything that just makes me a particularly eloquent parrot. But thank you regardless.

Q. Typos and grammatical errors, Etc?

A. I use a STT program also known as speech to text. I have found utilizing speech recognition software to be a far more efficient method to be used (for me at least) when writing. Well, "writing" becoming a relative term at this point. It is because of that, that should the AI that deciphers the noise I make into my microphone as a word that sounds like another whether it be through my own mispronunciation or the program's seemingly sporadic ability to decode my particular brand of noise seems to be largely its own elective.

The sections of (Corruption) where Luna is speaking in Middle English or "Old Equish" as it's referred to in the story; are the only parts I sit down and physically type. Expecting an AI that has been programmed to barely recognized the English language as it is currently and attempt to decipher a Shakespearean rant is as I have found, literally impossible. Should my stories read with a certain cadence and flow that isn't to your liking then I apologize but that's simply how I speak. I simultaneously look forward to and dread writing any lines for the character of Zecora. My speech algorithm has proven to be particularly spiteful when it comes to things that rhyme.

I will address any other questions as they come and only of course if I can afford them the time for a proper response. As it has been and as it always will be; all of you have my sincerest gratitude. Thank you.
