I had a teacher give an assignment like this once. ONCE.
It wasn't that bad, she just said that it made her feel like it was the 70's again. I was ... creative with the colors.

Reminds me if an episode of Rocky and Bullwinkle where Bullwinkle becomes a "famous" artist (but all he does is put whitewash on a canvas).

The scene went like this: Rocky is looking at Bullwinkle's artwork
R: Which one is this?
B: Man Eating a Sandwich in a White Room
R: Well, where's the sandwich?
B: The man ate it
R: Well, where's the man?
B: Well, you don't expect him to stick around after he's eaten his sandwich, do you?
R: Bullwinkle, why don't you use your head?
B: [painting a canvas] Easier with a brush
