Shadows continuation · 11:41am Oct 12th, 2019
So as you all know, Shadows was put on pause for about a month while I dealt with some real life issues. I appreciate everyone's patience, but there might be some changes coming toward the future of the story.
While I want to continue with illustrations for the story, I am uncertain if Applety will be the one to continue them due to our situation being... Strained to say the least. Divorce is a messy business and it can make things like this a challenge. I might consider communicating with her about how to make this still work but there's a number of possibilities on how this will play out. Here is the current list of possibilities:
- Applety will continue doing artwork every chapter (I don't know how likely this is)
- Applety will drop to doing artwork maybe every few chapters (slightly more likely? I have to talk with her, again.)
- I will do some of the artwork myself (would be only every few chapters or so rather than every one as I'm not that skilled and it takes me longer to make something of decent or passable quality)
- Another artist will take over (Most likely scenario, no idea how this will affect frequency of art, as I am currently in talks with another artist for this as a possibility)
- A mixture of artists will do work for the story (Another possibility!)
I'm curious as to what you guys want in regards to this.
As for the next chapter... It's coming. I apologize for such a long wait after a big cliff hanger chapter like the last one, but to make up for the long wait I have made sure the next chapter is a big one. It's not even "finished" yet and it's already the longest chapter in the entire story thus far by a significant margin. So I'll make up for not giving you anything for a month by giving you a lot to soak in.
Unlike a lot of other chapters though, this entire chapter focuses only on a single setting and the interactions of two characters, so expect a lot of character building here.
Also we are approaching the end of Act VI, I would estimate in perhaps 3-4 chapters.
