September, 2019 Update · 7:09pm Oct 2nd, 2019

I didn't get this done yesterday because I was busy. I'm struggling to write this opening paragraph because I don't have much to say. Maybe it's the lack of coffee.

As per usual, this is my monthly blog post/recap, where I ramble about last month and give little insights on my writing and plans that otherwise go unsaid.

Wake me up, when September ends September is over, yay! Wait, what's that you're telling me? Only ten days left until My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has its series finale? :rainbowderp: To be honest, I'm looking forward to it. I will be posting more about this after it airs. Probably on Monday, but maybe on Sunday.

Alright, so for September I set myself a goal of writing ~43,000 words. I didn't quite reach the specific details of that goal that I'm going to mention below, but I did write around ~61,000 words in total. So I'm being productive in writing, and hopefully, I can stay this way. I need to get a job and when I do I probably won't be that productive.

A recap and summary of my writing in September...

As I mentioned earlier, I didn't quite reach my goal of writing 43,000 words in The Night's Stars (only ~41,000) but the rest was jumping the gun. So I ended up writing a ~18.2k word long side story to the Night's Stars. This story won't be published for a long time, however. So technically, since it's set in The Night's Stars, you could argue I did hit my word count goal. Just not directly.

I've not read much as of late. I can't get myself interested in it, plus I'm focused on writing. One of the things I miss from back before I wrote so much was that I read a lot.

What to expect coming soon...

Since my plans for this month are rereading, editing, and rewriting chapters I've drafted in The Night's Stars (ones that aren't published yet) I've also considered attempting to finish Glimpses of Regret. In honesty, if I forced myself to, finishing it wouldn't be a problem with how much I'm writing, but my concern is that it would be forced and thus not very good.

I am going to do a special when The Night's Stars hits 200 likes.

Miscellaneous

Well, I have some things to say here because I'm not sure where else to put them. Bear with me.

First, should I do more blog posts? I ask because I feel awkward about this. I'm not the most socially inclined person. I keep to myself. So I wonder if doing more blog posts would help with that, but I'm also hesitant to because I'd feel like I'm being annoying if I published more blog posts than what I do.

Second, I am interested in investigating writing a request or two, because I'm somewhat interested in looking into doing commissions. I say requests at first because I want to see if that's something that I'm okay with before I'd move onto something else. I don't know the details of how to set any of this up. I also just remembered I "set up" a Ko-Fi page, by which I mean it exists... It's not finished at all, and again, with me being not socially inclined, I have no idea what I am doing. So, I guess this goes out as an offer that if you have a story idea you'd like to see me write, you can drop it in the comments, or alternatively and perhaps a better way to handle it, send me a DM about it. If no one does so, and even if someone does so, I'll probably end up writing a dedicated blog post about it sometime in the future.

The only guidelines I'm going to mention right now are: short and preferably not rated mature. If you have an idea but aren't sure, go ahead and message me or leave a comment because the details matter (I have a tendency to write more than is necessary, so your short idea might end up being 18k words long, like with that side story I wrote). There are probably other things I'd like but I can't think of them right now, so that's another reason to comment or message me. I'm assuming this is how requests work, right? I probably look silly now, don't I?

Third... I can't remember what the third point was. I kinda want to write more Twidash so I'll say that's the third point.

I am going to work on edits this month, as I said, in preparation for attempting to write 50,000 ish words next month for the EQD Napomo thing. I've been practicing the past couple of months, so I should be able to do this. I think. I hope.

As per usual, statistics. Comment below!

I think the number of blog posts you do is fine as it is. As for the requests, well, personally whenever I think of a story idea, it always turns into a long epic in my head. But I guess if I do ever come up with an idea for a short one shot I’ll DM you.
