So I have some slightly upsetting, at least to me, news that I'm pretty sure no one here can do anything about. About a month ago, a site I frequent and had stories and pictures on, Eka's Portal, announced they would be changing host servers. I contacted the site admins and received a message from Eka herself, the owner of the site, stating that none of my work would be lost and I'd be able to just log in to the new site under Eka's Portal because nothing else would change. I just tried several times and it said there was a host error with Eka's Portal itself. I don't know if this is to mean they are in the middle of the transfer or the server they are now on is unavailable to me. If it's the first, then great. I just need to wait a while longer. If it's the second, that is going to be mildly upsetting to me because that's several HUNDRED hours of work gone, as well as several pictures I no longer have access to and cannot post anywhere else. If anyone is able to get onto Eka's Portal, please let me know what the new website name is so I can access it.
Update, it's fixed and I'm back on the Portal.
FYI,
Always have backups of your work. We Network types try to protect your data when we update our hardware or switch providers, but its not 100% safe. There have been several cloud data, internet storage, email companies that have lost thousands of users data through out the years. Don't get me wrong, it is very rare, but it does happen. Just buy a small Western Digital portable drive and occasionally copy your work to it from the site. I think 2 TB drives are $100 or less in the US these days and the portable ones are the size of your wallet.

I am gonna be getting a couple External Hard Drives eventually. I need one for my XBox and one for my computer so I can store my work "off site" as it were. And so I can have more memory on my XBox.
