Here's a Poem a Wrote! · 12:30am May 14th, 2019
Hey everypony! So, I hope to have a new story update up soon, but in the meantime, I'd like to share with you a pony poem I wrote! I actually got this published in my club's poetry book on campus, and it won first place! Without further ado, here's The Princess in the Moon!
The Princess in the Moon
What is this ancient tale, you ask
That which, to you, is new?
A fable told to scare young ones
Of a monster in the moon?
Tis no fable, my dear friend,
But a story, sad, yet true
Hearken, faithful student, and hear
Of that creature in the moon

One long millennium ago,
One thousand summers past,
There lived two sisters; princesses,
Whose reign would ever last
I am the eldest; this, you know
This kingdom I’ve long run
You greet me every morning, too;
It is I who raise the sun
My younger sister you’ve not met,
Though I fear that all will soon
Her tragic story this tale tells
For she controls the moon
You see, my royal subjects
Adored my sunny days
Their praise and laud were mine to have
When they came out to play
And though my sister’s night was grand
With starlight soft and deep
Her subjects did not give her due
For that is when they sleep
The young one felt unloved, insulted,
And held the pain inside
And I was too absorbed by limelight,
Too blinded by my pride
As my sister’s grief ate her away,
Shadows fell upon her heart
A creature, dark, rose up within
And tragedy did start
The monster told her pretty lies
Told her how it wasn’t fair
And as she let it consume her
She turned into a Nightmare
In this new form, she confronted me
And refused to lower the moon
Our first solar eclipse set in
As she preached aloud my doom
With her dark magic, she wished to bring
An everlasting night
As the weight of what I’d done hit me,
I knew I’d have to fight
Our battle raged as moon blocked sun
Throughout the darkening sky
And as my mind and body raced,
I feared that either could die
Just when it seemed that all was lost
And night would last forever
I called up magic artifacts
We’d once wielded together
By the Elements’ power, the day was won
But with a tragic wound:
The guilt of banishing my dear sister
To a thousand years in the moon

Now, dear student, time’s almost up
The tale shall conclude soon
In a few warm days, the solstice will free
The princess from the moon
But you and your friends are ready
The Elements will find you all soon
And by power of Harmony, you shall redeem
My sister in the moon

This is so good. You need to upload this as a story! It can get more traction and be shared easier that way!
One is a traveller alone
One is incased in stone
One is in a place unknown
