I'm not a writer, so output is slow. But it has been judged adequate, so that's good for something, eh? ;)

    Writing Output Style

Just in case it's not clear, I don't have editors or pre-readers or anything like that. So I am posting the chapters after I write them, with just the first pass review done.

    Not forgotten

I've not forgotten you. Next update is half done. ;)

Unfortunately this story wasn't voted to top of my todo list, so I'm just working on it when I need distraction ;)

    Apologies for lack of updates

I have had a hard time fitting writing into my schedule.

But, I took a vacation block next month, and it's my goal to use most of that time to sit in a coffee shop and write bad MLP fanfic. Wish me luck! ;)

    Finding time

The challenge has been actually finding time to write - sorry about that. ;) Will get back to it soon.

    No promises of velocity...

Here's the first chapter. I don't expect this story to be anywhere near the length of the first one, but maybe. I see it as a series of shorter stories. The important bit is unlike the first book, all the major plot points of this one are written down.

No promises on speed, but hey, comments are motivating ;)

I don't think anyone's holding their breath, but, I've been leaning more and more to actually attempting the sequel to Night Reigns.

Night Reigns was a lot of fun. I wrote it in the style of a "never ending story" like I used to enjoy on the old BBS's, with the primary exception being that I played all the characters instead of just one or two. I rarely planned it out, I just let the characters lead me as I wrote each chapter, fully off the cuff. (There were a couple of things I really wanted to see, but it wasn't really planned).

Despite that, it felt like it was going pretty good for a while. Then it got a little lost in the middle and ended up going to a different destination than originally intended. That ticked off a lot of people, hehe. But, by the final revision I think I sanded most of the ugly bumps down and I'm pretty happy with where it ended up.

But I told myself I didn't want to get stuck in the middle again, because I usually have a good idea what I want the end to be, and I can write a decent enough beginning, but man do I hate middles. So I told myself I wasn't going to write any of the sequels unless I actually had a plan for it, start to finish.

Well, I don't have that yet, but over the last year I've been taking random notes on what it MIGHT be. Recently some ideas started to gel, and I have 15 pages of notes about what might happen in such a story. I guess with the end of the series coming up, it's been sort of on my mind. (But let's be honest, there's no way I'll write 6 sequels before the last episode. On the other hand, my AU is far enough diverged that it doesn't matter what canon does...)

At any rate, it got serious enough tonight that I started planning out each character arc, and so I figured I'd end the night of note taking with a note here, on the off chance anyone wants to chat about ideas.
