I’ve just realized something.....

My Gilda Stories Suck.

A Lot.

Looking back on them with what I’ve learned about writing since then the more I’ve realized how problematic they are.

The stories jump around all over the place, Gilda is too far removed from the established characters, I was too focused on trying to place the series in the real world, and I closed off so many story opportunities just to make Gilda more of a woobie.

So I have decided to work on rewriting them into much more focused, coherent stories that focus on actual emotion and character development for her.

I will also completely rework Gilda’s backstory, lineage and family tree since I accidentally turned it into an incoherent mess from the word go, and so I will clean it up to allow for Gabby to be her cousin and give everyone except her twin sister a G-name since I was unaware that was a thing they were supposed to keep up back in 2016.

I also tried to make Gilda comically unaware of magic but I realized that closed off a lot of story possibilities, too, so Gilda will more or less follow Steven universe rules where she’s aware of magic but ignores it unless she’s currently dealing with it, cause let’s face it, Trixie has real magic, there is nothing to be comically unaware of at this point
