MLP Gaming: Pool of Radiance (1) · 4:28am Mar 21st, 2019
Since Wizardry VI takes a LOT of skill grinding before I can even begin (and this is really damn boring for me to do this in one shot), I decided to show off another game. This one is as old as me.
AD&D: Pool of Radiance
(And yeah, you can see my desktop. Or at least, how it was a few months ago).
Pool of Radiance (by SSI) is one of the first real adaptation of Dungeons and Dragons as a computer game. It's based on some very old rules and some of them are rather inconvenient (especially the racial level cap). I'm playing with the Golden Box Companion to bypass some of them and make the experience a bit more fun for me.
Here's my team. All are humans, single class and female (because, well, level cap)
Applejack - Fighter
Rainbow Dash - Fighter
Pinkie Pie - Thief
Fluttershy - Cleric
Rarity - Magic User
Twilight - Magic User
Yeah, I'm making the game a bit harder on myself. I'm going to make another party for the sequels since more classes (such as Paladin and Ranger) will be available.
And, I'll also be keeping a journal while a play. Since there is no quest log, I need to keep notes about what I find. And I'll be recopying the journal entries I come across.
As for where I am now, our party has retaken the slums (and Rarity managed to overcome her ickyness by casting Stinking Cloud) and exorcised Sokal Keep. And they just managed to defeat the bandit Norris the Gray.
And of course, Twilight is on Journal duty
Coming next, is Mendor's Library, where our party is tasked of bringing back any books, maps and tomes of interest. Rumors are that there's a basilisk and a spectre roaming around.
I feel a writing cramp coming.
