So, I watched the trailer for the final season of mlp on Youtube, and it was awesome to see Sombra back, but I also thought that this show had to end sooner or later as I was watching it. It's amazing that this show lasted for so long despite being directed towards "younger audiences", but the end looks like is gtting nearer and nearer as time passes. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I really don't know what comes next. For example, I don't know what's going to happen to sites like this one and Derpibooru, if they survive, will someone still be there after the show's ending?
And I feel like I didn't do much on this site after all this time, my studies, my social life, my family, everything has kept me away from writing! And if the show ends and no one is in this site afterwards I feel like all of these stories were futile and pointless. I think I'm mixing objective points of view with personal issues by now, but I just had to get it out of my system.
I mean, I have a story planned about Big Mac based off Huniepop and a semi-grimdark / grimdark story with the Apple family, heck, I even planned on continuing "Spike's odyssey", but if the show ends, I don't finish those stories in time and everyone leaves then everything will be pointless.
Sorry, I just had to say something. Let me know what you think will come next after the show ends and if you still want one of those stories or ideas by any chance.
Fandoms tend to live on even after the thing they're based on ends. Calvin & Hobbes ended its run two decades ago, yet the subreddit's still bubbling with activity and you'll see three or four new stories on fanfiction.net every month.
The end of the show does not equal the end of the fandom. If you're worried nobody will be here to see your story, don't. Go out there and write it! Somebody will see.
