I need some comfort food. Hey! How about . . .

PUUUDDING! (2:20 is really eerie.)

Seriously, I need comfort food. I and my room mate have decided to send his van to live on the farm. (That's where they go when they run away, right? Or is that just for house pets and grandparents?) It keeps overheating no matter how many parts we replace. It took us two hours to go grocery shopping because we had to keep pulling the van over every two miles before it red-lined and shut off.
I would have brought home the food on my bike faster than this.

Even with a nice tax refund, it's still going to take nearly two months to save up enough cash to get a used van that won't be just another junk pile. (I'm not counting on Lending Tree to do me any favors since I didn't qualify for an H+R Block credit card.) I guess it's the local rails for my buddy until things turn around for us.

It's times like this, however, that make you take the long view and count your blessings. Yeah, it sucks that the van overheats too fast to be safe on the road no matter what parts I switch out, but at least we have a home and I have a job that (finally) pays pretty decently. As long as I have those benefits, things will turn around for us.
