The grey mare is coming home! Commission slots open for quick turnaround!!!

FINALLY!

I wanted to update Friday and then I had fuss with two deliveries that pretty much rendered me too annoyed to do much more than collapse (hence missing an upload, sorry!). Funny how no one can find this place despite signs and maps... After paying for delivery, we had to get our own celebratory pizza and I still haven't had my other delivery for the grey mare, so I will hopefully get that one tomorrow.

But, after over two weeks at the clinic, she will be coming home next week at some point. Although they are happy for her to go immediately, they would like her to have one more treatment on the hole they have made (they chiseled through bone and cartilage to create a new drainage hole in the sinuses as the proper one is not doing its job and healing closed) to hopefully stop it from closing up again. They removed a lot of necrotic tissue and a piece of bone at the end of this week, so that is hopefully the body expelling all the crap that the infection killed off. I expect to follow up in a few weeks with another treatment on that hole at least and will need to keep close tabs on it going forward. If it stays open, that is. If it closes, we're going to have to find something else to try with her, as she's still very much fighting and I think I owe her that chance, as long as she's not in pain or distress from treatment. All they do with her is under standing sedation so we have no general anaesthesia risks currently.

I'm very glad to see her home soon as her friend is missing her, which is hard to see. They bonded closely over the summer and I don't like separating them, although it's good for them to be able to manage it from time to time too.

I am still working on commissions, of course, and have factored time into my schedule to allow for picking her up (as it's quite a drive), although I may have a free slot this week now, if anyone fancies picking up something on super quick turnaround! Otherwise, there are free slots next week and, well, you guys know where the money is going, all to bills and making sure the grey lady has everything she needs to get better. The vet bills are going to be shocking but I've not been sent the invoice as yet, though I massively appreciate the commissions to go towards helping to pay this off too. All to a good cause in ensuring her health and continued treatment and I trust that she will appreciate it too, even though she may not be able to tell you. :)
