Back at it. For real this time · 6:25pm Jan 19th, 2019
Hey guys, just wanted to pop on to let you know that I'm back to writing. Over the last few days, I've found myself at my desk (oh, I have a desk now), writing a page or more before bed. I'm actually halfway through chapter two, and still going strong. I chock this burst of creativity to two things. First, the big changes that I talked about last year. If you missed the big announcement, I left the part-time job I'd been working at for the last six years, and am now at a full-time job that, while not glamorous, pays much better, and is far less stressful than working in a convenience store. Not only that, but I finally moved out of my parents house, and into my own place. I think both of these experiences have helped to lift me out of the funk that I'd been in for the last few years, that really caused my creativity to drag. Another big factor is my roommate. He's the creative type as well, and like me, he'd found himself in a bit of a creative drought. One night, after playing video games, we both felt an itch to work on our computers, so we got our tablets out, and began coloring in some line work that we'd found, just as a way to get the creative juices flowing. Now it's become a bit of a nightly ritual, neither of us calling it quits until we feel we've accomplished something. I think that having someone working alongside the other, who understands the struggles of trying to be creative, has really helped us both to buckle down, and do our work without calling it quits. For that I am very thankful. Now, that being said, I don't want to post anything yet; as it is, the story is currently just in the beginning stages, and I want to hold off on posting until I have some real forward momentum. I think if I do it that way, it'll give you all something better to look forward to, and it'll mean that I'll have to really work hard to make sure I produce something that I not only think you all will want to read, but I will be happy with as well.
With that out of the way, I'm going to leave now. I've spent an hour writing already (and another half an hour on this blog post), and I have to go back to my parents' house and check on the cats (oh we have cats now, two adorable brothers named Buster and Silas). I'll be sure to pop on again before posting the first three, maybe four chapters. I don't know how long I put if off for, but I promise, I'll definitely start posting on here again, and hopefully on a more regular basis. No more of this one chapter a year nonsense that really held me back during my last story. I don't want you all to have to wait until 2025 to see how this story will end.
