Session 4 · 4:21am Jan 12th, 2019
Well that was fun. I got to piss off the party in a good way! So first the the Wounded came back after being abducted from the party by a group of Succubi maids... now if you think he got lucky... nope. he was used as a dress up doll and his Hexblade weapon Ashlark was laughing at him the entire time. After that the bard NPC party member Lulu went off to see what kind of info on the cult she could find at the Bards college and she told them she'd meet them in Spiritmoor in at least 3 days. Spiritmoor is the town from the prologue. So after that they had two choices of towns to go to to start their investigation into the cult. one is a ghost town called Crowford which was destroyed a couple a months back or a swamp town called Dryward where a Druid lives that's said to know everything that happens in his swamp.
They chose to go to Crowford. Along the way the killed some Mocking Fish which is a homebrew creature I made, skipped an encounter with a couple crocs, after that is where it get's good.
The next encounter was 3 assassins one a Tiefling named Sadi and two unnamed mooks. Sadist or Sadi as he introduced himself approached the group and asked if he could borrow their campfire to cook his lunch. afterwards he said "Sorry but this is just business" snapped his fingers and the two mooks hidden in trees nearby shot crossbow bolts at Sakura's and Gold's characters. The party fought back and right when the party was about to kill Sadist when he was at 2 hp he straightened, bowed, said "Congratulations. You're stronger than I thought." Then turned invisible and left using a Scroll of Teleportation. This means that whoever hired him is high up in the food chain because Scrolls of Teleportation are items that are not only very expensive but also restricted items. They're not illegal but it's damn hard for most people to get one let alone see one.
He also killed the two mooks before using a scroll of teleportation Heck the party didn't even see him throw the daggers that killed the other assassins, and he left a note saying he didn't want to kill them to due not liking killing those who kill criminals but a jobs a job. The note also said that by this time next week the people who put the hit out would either be dead or in jail, and perhaps they could work together on something and sighed with his full name. *Two of the players have been DMs and they said that as a DM they were applauding me on the entire encounter but as a player they were freaking pissed*
the moment he left everyone was so freaking pissed and meanwhile I'm just...
The group saved a Bear and her cub from three Apes *the Apes went down very easily but that encounter was more for fun then anything* and due to the Fighter getting a nat 20 on a animal handling check the bear and cub gave the group hugs and left. The Wizard NPC was very confused as far as she knew only Druids are supposed to be able to do that. After looting the mooks and leaving the group ran into 4 cultist.... who went down easily but that wasn't the point of that encounter. nope they found a note written in some kind of code. Wonder if they'll figure it out or if RNG kicks them in the butt. *shrugs*
Gold said you forgot to mention the part where he's intentionally trying to annoy the guard so he could get his sword back.
