A Followup To My Last Update

Hey all,

I just wanted to pop in and say that things are finally sort of calming down in terms of the family situation, so Retrograde should make a return before too long, if all continues to go well. It just so happens to be a month to the day since I posted my last update... funny how things turn out.

My grandfather's chemo has yielded a positive result, and while it's still not over, the cancer is in remission, so yeah, things are calming down a bit. He's still got about a little over a month and change to go before he's done his chemo, but my family is relieved that it's going as well as it is, which in turn relieves some of my stress. It also helps that over the past month, I've gotten to play through the Spyro Reignited Trilogy (it's great btw), and Smash Ultimate (it's also pretty great), so I've been able to find some relative peace in the chaos that is my family dealing with cancer for the third time in less than a year.

I want to make it clear that I'm not promising anything at the moment, as it's the holiday season, which can be a bit hectic, but that doesn't normally stop me too much when it comes to writing. I've been decompressing the stress caused by the past year slowly (especially recently with the news of the cancer remission), and while I'm not 100%, I've been itching to work on some writing for at least the past two weeks, and while my first crack at writing after so long won't be Retrograde right away (heck, it's not even going to be pony related), I'm mostly doing that so I can come back into working on Retrograde with more confidence in my ability to write, after more or less not doing anything writing related in the past few months due to the whole situation with my family.

I won't say that we have a release date for Chapter 6, but if all goes well on my end, it'll be done sooner rather than later. I personally kind of want to make up for the time spent away from the story by trying to get ahead of my work on it for the Holidays (ideally, I'd get my half of Chapter 7 done in time for Christmas, but I don't want to promise anything yet), though that would be putting the cart before the horse, and I don't want to get too ahead of myself (or RQK, since this is also his fic).

Should I post the thing I'll be working on to regain some lost confidence online (probably on Fanfiction.net or AO3), I'll link to it in a blog post, should you be interested in my non-pony writing. Otherwise, hope you all had a good Thanksgiving (I know it's a little late, but y'know, I've been busy), and are having a good holiday season thus far.
