This is all the information there is about my MLP headcanon, or the primary universe that I imagine when thinking about My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. 99% of this comes from the works of other people. Influences include the Shadow Wars Storyverse, the Pony POV verse, Alara J. Rogers, the Book Horse blog, "Myou’ve Gotta Be Kidding Me", "A Brief History of Equestria", "The Known World" Fimfiction group, "Lost Cities", the MLP-related TV Tropes "Just for Fun" pages, "Be Good To Your Daughters, For They Become Mothers", FanOfMostEverything, Applegeek, the Lunaverse, "The Storm Queen", "Codex Equestria", "Arrow 18 Mission Logs", the Petriculture Cycle, The "When They Were Young" Fimfiction group, Celesti Lateo, Bucking Nonsense, “A 14th Century Friar in Equestria”, and Sketcha-Holic. The primary world seen in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic will be referred to here as Equus, while the one seen in Equestria Girls will be referred to as Tellus, and the inhabitants Tellurian humans (Homo sapiens multicolor).

~4.54 BYA - Equus/Pedestria coalesces.
~66 MYA - Divergence of Equus and Pedestria. On Equus, the extinction of most non-avian dinosaurs.
~15 MYA - The last point at which no creature on Equus can be said to be sapient
~100,000 BP (Before Present) - The Thaumosphere (sphere of psychokinetic energy surrounding Equus, created by the Cosmic Concepts) starts adding chromelanin to tarpan coats, modifying them into several different clades (including Cabalminusculus equus, or the Equestrian Pony), and uplifting them to sapience.
~49,000 BP - Ponies begin to spread out from Central and Eastern Neighropa and start settling other regions on Equus.
~12,500 BHW - The Aurochs found Cattle Hill, one of the first towns to exist anywhere on Equus, in central southern Aurochtolia, or Neighsia Minor.
~12,000 BHW - Ungulates develop agriculture. Start of the Age of Settlement.
~10,000 BHW - According to the Celestial Dragons, this marks the foundation of their Empire (modern Chi-Neigh).
~9500 BHW - Cattle Hill is at its height, with a population in the thousands.
9187 BHW - Beginning of the reign of Loki, the first known Chaos Avatar. A runty frost dragon with shapeshifting powers, he is raised by alicorn-level reindeer (the Æsir). He creates the windigos, creates ice wolves that kill the current Sunbearer, brings the first Fimbulwinter, and nearly destroys the world.
9133 BHW - Loki is turned to stone by the Elements of Harmony, the first Chaos Avatar to have this happen to him. Beginning of the reign of the Chaos Avatar Eris, a gargoyle, who, like her namesake centuries later, has assorted body parts from different creatures, including both a bat-type wing and an avian wing.
~9000 BHW - The City of the Moon is first settled.
~8500 BHW - Agriculture spreads to The City of the Moon, along with traders from the onagers, who name the city “Jennicho”.
8306 BHW - Eris creates the Elements of Disharmony.
~8300 BHW - Jennicho raises high walls and prospers, with a population of 2 to 3 thousand gazelles.
7872 BHW - Eris gives King Midas of the minotaurs the ability to turn objects into gold; in return she demands only that he turn an entire apple orchard into gold and give it to her. These become the Apples of Eris.
7771 BHW - Eris starts the Tauran War between the minotaurs and the centaurs by using one of her apples, largely because she is mad that she wasn't invited to a party. The war catches many, many ponies in the crossfire, as both Minos and Taurus are heavily populated by pegasi at the time, and the war is part of the reason they move away.
7708 BHW - Beginning of the reign of the Chaos Avatar Pan. Originally a fun-loving musician, a goat who, like many goats, resided in Minos. His home was more or less destroyed by the Tauran War, and he lost his happy-go-lucky attitude. Consumed by rage, he sets out to find the actual cause of the war, and goes deep enough to identify the culprit as Eris, the Spirit of Chaos and Disharmony. He manages to track her down and kill her. By killing her, he becomes the next Chaos Avatar.
7705 BHW - End of the Tauran War.
~7600 BHW - Final fall of Cattle Hill.
~7500 BHW - The Onager city of Jennicho reaches a cultural height, with a population in the high thousands.
~5700 BHW - By this time Jennicho has become almost purely an Onager city, with only a few old Gazelle clans surviving as a priestly caste, and its inhabitants have become quite martial in culture.
610 BHW - Foundation of Lake Town (the future Crystal City), Year 0 Anno Urbis Conditae (A.U.C.) in Crystal-Imperial reckoning.
c. 600 BHW - Rise of the Three Tribes in the Manehattan River Valley.
552 BHW (AUC 58) - The draconequus Mayhem is born.
521 BHW (AUC 89) - Mayhem begins his reign as the Chaos Avatar.
490 BHW (AUC 120) - Mayhem grants three seaponies magical gems which have the power to generate Disharmony. This act transforms the seaponies into the Sirens.
247 BHW (AUC 363) - The Pegasus Mandate attacks and sacks Lake Town. It is rebuilt as the Crystal City.
101 BHW (AUC 509) - Star Swirl the Bearded is born to a simple family of frontierponies in the Unicorn Kingdom.
52 BHW (AUC 558) - Birth of Commander Hurricane.
49 BHW (AUC 561) - Birth of Chancellor Puddinghead.
45 BHW (AUC 565) - Birth of Smart Cookie.
34 BHW (AUC 576) - Birth of Archduke Starfire.
32 BHW (AUC 578) - Birth of Private Pansy to Commander Hurricane and Wind Whistler.

18 BHW (AUC 592) - The Arctic Ocean and Half-Moon Bay begin to freeze over, choking off commerce and destroying the crops of the Three Tribes dwelling around the Bay.
17 BHW (AUC 593) - A regiment of Pegasus mercenaries and their dependents become foederate to the Crystal Empire and receive the right to provision from the lands around the (ground) town of Derecho. The Pegasus regiment builds a modest cloud-fort to the north of Derecho, which is the nucleus of the future skycastle.
16 BHW (AUC 594) - Birth of Clover the Clever.
13 BHW (AUC 598) - Celestia is born to Archduke Starfire and Archduchess Imbrium. Mayhem rapes Madonna, as he knows that his children would be more likely to be selected as Chaos Avatars.
10 BHW (AUC 600) - The Shouting Congress.
8 BHW (AUC 602) - Some Earth Ponies migrate southward around the Empire and settle on the shores of the Gulf River, founding the town of Lith around a stony height which they fortify. This is the nucleus of what will one day become a mighty city. Luna is born to Archduke Starfire and Archduchess Imbrium.
0 BHW (AUC 610) - The Winter War. Construction of the City Foreverfree, the first capital of Equestria, begins around Friendship Cavern, the cave where the Founders of Equestria had their final confrontation.
c. 3 AHW - Star Swirl discovers that his student, Celestia, has the ability to raise the Sun without damage to herself. Celestia becomes the new Sunbearer. Star Swirl begins to believe that Celestia would be the ideal Head of State for the new Equestria due to this role as well as her alicorn nature.
c. 3-5 AHW - Celestia and Luna are crowned Princesses by representatives of the governments of Earth, Pegasopolis, and Unicornia. The Castle of the Two Sisters is built.
3 AHW - Chancellor Puddinghead dies.
c. 5-10 AHW - The Pillars of Equestria are established and go off to fight the Pony of Shadows in this time period. Discord is born randomly from chaotic energies generated by the thoughts and emotions of Equus’s inhabitants. The beginning of the Discordian Era.
23 AHW - Commander Hurricane dies.
24 AHW - Private Pansy dies.
25 AHW - Smart Cookie dies.
39 AHW - Princess Platinum dies.
49 AHW - Clover the Clever dies.
53 AHW - Tirek is born to Prince Vorak and Princess Haydon.
55 AHW - Scorpan is born to Prince Vorak and Princess Haydon.
63 - Celestia and Luna seal Discord in stone and reestablish the Equestrian state. The end of the Discordian Era. The new national government is controlled by noble houses.
63-110 - Equestria, militarily led by Princess Luna, the High Lady of War, usurps neighboring states. Their subjects are then treated to much better conditions to what they had previously. This proves to be a successful model of expansion for Equestria.
68 - Sendak the Elder, an elderly Viprallan centaur wizard, is discovered to have abducted a unicorn stallion from Equestria and is sent to work in the mines indefinitely.
75 - Tirek and Scorpan journey to Equestria from the centaur Midnight Kingdom, hoping to prey on the thaumic reserves of the ponies.
77 - Scorpan betrays Tirek to the Sisters, who defeat him and banish him to Tartarus.
c. 90 (c. AUC 700) - Sombra is discovered by the Crystal Guard and brought to the Crystal Heart Foal Center, an orphanage in the Crystal City.
106 (AUC 716) - Sombra returns to the Crystal City, and petrifies and then shatters Empress Amore. Sombra uses a neuromantic spell to bind the Crystal Ponies to his will. Celestia and Luna defeat Sombra in battle, but Sombra suspends the Crystal Empire outside of spacetime.
110 - Princess Luna calls upon the Night Shadows and becomes Nightmare Moon, and after briefly engaging her sister in battle, is sent to the Moon by the Elements of Harmony.
100s - Bahamut's Rest is renamed "Canterlot" and the government of the Realm re-established there. The Everfree Forest is increasingly abandoned and becomes the abode of Chaotic monsters.
early 200s - Draconic Matriarchy attempts to conquer Equestria as part of a draconic volkerwanderung. Among the battles of this era include Celestia's personal defeat of the great Dragon Syhlex and his sons.
258 - Final defeat of the Draconic Matriarchy, the last serious organized Dragon threat to Equestria in North Amareica.
~300 - Last reliable reports of the open consumption of Pony-flesh by the nobility of the Griffon Empire.
339 - 341 - The Great Plague ravages Equestria, killing some 2.5 million of its 8.5 million Pony population.
340 - The great healer, Doctor Wiseheart, discovers the cure for the Plague, saving Equestria from cultural collapse. He is granted lands north of Morgan.
477 - Equestrians befriend the Breezies.
Mid 5th to Mid 6th Centuries - Equestria campaigns against the Hyperborean Griffon pirates, subduing their major depredations against Equestrian shipping and slave raids in the populace.
600-850 - Time of Expansion - Equestria expands to roughly her present borders, founding many new cities in the opened southwestern and northwestern lands, all the way to the Cruel Sea in the west. Great increase in commerce and learning. The scientific method is discovered and begins to be applied. Celestia herself begins to slip into a lethargic depression.
688 - Caballero, a Griffon Realm in Western Neighropa, begins founding colonies along the Gulf River.
Late 7th to 8th centuries - Caballero establishes a major colonial empire to the far south of Equestria, conquering Cervid and Pony tribes who were previously under the control over other races: the amphibian-mammalian Ahuizotls, reptilian Coatl and mammalian Lamas.
8th Century - The Griffon Empire starts to disintegrate in a series of dynastic civil wars.
c. 700 - The Griffon Empire stops trying to hold Istallia.
732 - Grover crowned High King of the Griffons of Hyperborea.
750 - Serfdom is abolished on all but the Metallic royal holdings.
797 - Serfdom is abolished on the last remaining Equestrian lands in which it is legal; the Metallic royal holdings. End of serfdom in Equestria.
9th century - Neighropan Griffon Realms of Albion and Hyperborea also begin planting colonies in the Amareicas, seeking lands beyond Equestria to avoid confrontation with Princess Celestia. The Griffon Empire completes its disintegration, leaving a rump Empire centered on Lippanzer, ruled by the Hawkcastles.
810 - Synchronization of spelling techniques in Equestrian magic schools, which will facilitate the progress of Equestrian Unicorn magic.
840 - Search for the Crystal City. The Empire is still hidden, but the searchers are able to pinpoint its previous location, and where it is likely to reappear. It also becomes obvious that Sombra is still monstrously evil.
850 - 1100 - Time of Enlightenment - The scientific method begins to be applied on a large scale. Complex machinery is developed. The powers of water and then steam are harnessed to build large factories. Railroads are constructed. The first airships loft into the skies. Schools spread, hospitals are constructed, food distribution improved. Equestria’s population grows into the high millions.
850s - Equestrian expansion into the Northwest is almost reversed by the Amareican Griffon leader Guntram the Black (d. 860). Celestia, severely depressed during this decade, exercises no effective leadership against the Griffons. The arrogant but miltiarily effective Pegasus Day Guard Captain Aquila (d. 860) stages a temporarily successful coup in Canterlot, making himself War Leader, though he continues to claim loyalty to Celestia. Equestria avoids a Shogunate largely by Aquila's death in battle slaying Guntram.
860 - Upon the death of Guntram and Aquila, Celestia largely recovers her sanity and once again takes charge of the Realm, though during her mental absence Parliament has seized much power. Celestia confirms most of these new powers.
880 - Birth of Blueskin Cherrytree, the future General.
915 - The Equestrian-Neighpalese War.
952 - Albionish and Hyperboreans involved in major war against each other, both in Neighropa and around the world. Birth of Pine Apple.
955 - Albionish victorious against Hyperboreans on many fronts, and gain control of Terre Feuille d'Erable, the cold country northeast of Morgan, which they rename the Provinces of Upper and Lower Can-neighda.
956 - Birth of Sweetie Pie.
962-991 - The Buffalo Wars: A desultory series of actions during the Southwestward Expansion of Equestrian settlers into traditional buffalo lands.
966 - Birth of Pure Gold ♂ in Morgan Province.
971 - Start of the First Albionic War (971-979) as Albionish seize coastal cities.
975 - Griffon Kingdom of Hyperborea nearly collapses in major revolt. Fighting spreads through Neighropa. Start of the Neighropan Wars (1375-1401). Birth of Apple Bloom (the Elder) in Morgan Province. Birth of Reliable ("Relly") Oaktree. Birth of Frosty Pie to Sweetie Pie (19).
976 - Birth of Golden Heart ♂ in Morgan Province.
986 - Death of General Blueskin Cherrytree.
990 - Frosty Pie (15) meets and falls in love with Pure Gold (14). Birth of Apple Tart ♂.
991 - Frosty Pie (16) marries Pure Gold (15).
995 - Birth of Acorn ("Pokey") Oaks.
996 - Apple Bloom (the Elder, age 21) begins the Exodus from Morgan, weds Golden Heart (age 20). Other companions include Pure Gold (age 30)
997 - Birth of Surprise (the Nth) Pie to Frosty Pie (age 22) and Pure Gold (age 31).
999-1002 - The Boors’ War: The last great attempt of Equestria to tame the Badlands. Setting up the colonies of Equitoria, the settlers soon found their biggest problem to be the native Diamond Dogs who lived under the earth and robbed towns, plundered supply routes and occasionally even abducted ponies as bounty. The EUP Guard was called in to safeguard the Pony settlers, but was quickly overwhelmed with the Diamond Dogs’ presence, who at that point had already resorted to irregular warfare (against the painfully rigid, outdated and unflexible tactics of the Guard) to great effect.

Even though the Guard proceeded to increase their presence constantly over the months, the Badlands remained to be dangerous and utterly uninhabitable regions, last not but least because of such 'neutral' threats like dragons and hydras. Even though the casualties were minimal (less than 200), Princess Celestia essentially declared the cause not to be worth the trouble, sacked the responsible commanding officers, beat the retreat and reorganized the EUP Guard into the Equestrian Royal Guard, updating it for the modern world with new, more flexible tactics. To this day, there is some sort of unspoken note 'unspoken' because it is a massive Old Shame agreement between the Diamond Dogs and Equestria that keeps Ponies (especially the Royal Guard) out and the Diamond Dogs in. The colonies are still there as well, but are destroyed beyond recognition.
999 - Equestria acquires Neigh Orleans and the Hayseeds from the Hyperboreans as part of a diplomatic deal.
1005 - Dawnflower Apple born to Apple Bloom (the Elder, age 30) and Golden Heart (age 29). Pure Gold (39) and Frosty Pie (40) die by accident.
1008 - Start of the Second Albionic War (1008-1011), as the Neighropan War spreads to North Amareica.
1010 - Equestria captures Lower Maple Leaf but the Albionish sack Baltimare.
1011 - End of the Second Albionic War (1008-1011) in a negotiated peace.
1019 - Surprise ("the Nth") Pie (age 22) marries Reliable ("Relly") Oaktree (age 34).
Apple Tart ♂ marries a Berry on the road. Birth of Golden ("Goldie") Pie, the future "Granny" Pie, and of her future husband Feldspar Granite.
1020 - King Guto of the Griffon Kingdom of Hyperborea is slain by the Arimaspi Vengeance (his reign-name) who dies stealing the Idol of Boreas. The Arimaspi falls into the Abyssmal Abyss with the idol. Deprived of their sacred treasure, the Griffons fall to fighting among themselves and the Kingdom disintegrates. Equestrian naval might keeps any Neighropan Powers from claiming the territory.
1028 - Birth of Pot Mender, the future Tinker Mare.
1030s - Start of the Transfigurationalist movement in Morgan Province.
1032 - Death of Apple Bloom (the Elder) at 57, of fever on the road. Dawnflower Apple (27) becomes the leader of the caravan. Acorn ("Pokey") Oaks (30) rejoins the exodus, and becomes very helpful to Dawnflower. The two start falling in love. Happy Trails (19) also joins the exodus, and soon falls in love with Dawnflower's younger sister Duskflower (19). Start of the Mexicolt War (1032-1034).
1034 - Birth of Morning Harvest in December. Dawnflower Apple (29) marries Pokey Oaks (32) and Duskflower Apple (21) marries Happy Trails (21).
1036 - Birth of Smith Apple, later known as “Granny Smith”, to Dawnflower Apple (31) and Acorn Oaks (41) in November. Birth of Rose ("Apple Rose") Apple to Duskflower Apple (23) and Happy Trails (23).
1037 - Birth of Apfel Strudel in Lippanzer, on the continent of Neighropa.
1038 - Sir Rich Burr publishes The Inscrutable Occicdent, which discusses the lands of Eastern Draconia and Oceania, including Chi-Neigh. Pot Mender, the future Tinker Mare, has her first sexual experience with one of her mother's stallions, and gains her Cutie Mark for pot mending in a kitchen accident.
1040 - Birth of Goldie Delicious Apple to Duskflower Apple (27) and Happy Trails (27).
1042 - Death of Apple Tart at age 62.
1044 - Celestia grants land to the Apple Family on the northern fringe of the Everfree Forest, resulting in the foundation of Ponyville. The families of Dawnflower and Duskflower Apple settle around Sweet Apple Acres.
1046 - Duskflower Apple's family removes to new lands purchased northeast of what will become Ponyville, within an easy journey of Sweet Apple Acres and Dawnflower Apple's family. There, Duskflower founds Applesauce Farms.
1048 - Duskflower shocks everypony around Ponyville by separating from her husband Happy Trails, who goes off to join the intinerant Earth Ponies. However, he returns to see her at intervals. Birth of Mosely Apple (later Mosely Orange) in Ponyville.
1049 - Birth of Chart ("Pie Chart") Pie to Goldie Pie (age 30) and Feldspar Granite Pie (age 30).
1050 - Equestria acquires Vanhoover Bay, future sites of Vanhoover and Tall Tale, from Albion through a diplomatic deal. Birth of Igneous Rock Pie to Goldie Pie (31) and Feldspar Granite Pie (31) in South Dunnich.
1053 - Birth of Apple Dumpling, daughter of Smith Apple (16) and Morning Harvest (18). Birth of Gin ("Ginnie") Fizz.
1054 - Birth of Elizabeth Brown ("Apple Brown Betty") Apple to Smith Apple (17) and Morning Harvest (18).
April 12th - the ill-fated utopian colony expedition of Distant Shores and Scarlet Flame, in the ship Queen Sapphire captained by Almarine, sets forth.
Late July - The Queen Sapphire makes landfall on "The Island," somewhere in the western seas.
1056 - Duskflower shocks everypony around Ponyville even more by divorcing Happy Trails. However, he stillreturns to see her at intervals, and the two remain lovers. Most of the few survivors on The Island die of hunger in the winter. Birth of Wandering ("Wanderlust") Baker.
1059 - Pie Fighter born to Goldie Pie (age 40) and Feldspar Granite Pie (age 40).
1061 - Birth of Hondo Flanks. Birth of Trail Dancer to the itinerant Earth Ponies. Foundation of the Geosophist movement.
1063 - Pear Butter born to Grand Pear in February.
1064 - Bright Macintosh born to Smith Apple (26) and Morning Harvest in March.
1065 - Birth of Cookie Crumbles, future mother of Rarity and Sweetie Belle. Death of Acorn ("Pokey") Oaks (age 70), leading the fight against a particularly-violent incursion from the Everfree. Birth of Red Delicious Apple. The Island settlement fissions due to disagreement between Distant Shores and Scarlet Flame. Scarlet Flame founds a totalitarian village, Scarletville. Scarlet eventually makes war on the original village and the inhabitants of The Island mostly perish in the destruction.
1066 - Birth of Cloudy Quartz in South Dunnich.
1067 - Birth of Golden Delicious Apple, brother of Red Delicious Apple (2). Pie Chart (18) begins attending Pranceton University in Neigh Jersey.
1068 - Apple Leaves born to Smith Apple (31) and Morning Harvest (33).
1069 - Birth of Sugar Pie to Goldie Pie (50) and Feldspar Granite Pie (50).
1071 - Birth of Marc Trouver near Neigh Orleans. Birth of Fancy Pants in Canterlot.
1072 - Pie Fighter (3) befriends Rough Neck (3). Starlight Glimmer is born in Hollow Shades to Firelight and Sweet Tooth.
1073 - Pie Chart (24) earns a MBA from Pranceston -- and then falls in love with Trail Dancer (22), and joins her caravan of itinerant Earth Ponies.
1075 - Death of Dawnflower ("Sew n'Sow") Apple (age 70) at Ponyville, protecting one of her grandsons and several other children from a creature which had come out of the Everfree. Lemon Quartz born to Goldie Pie (46) and Feldspar Granite Pie (46).
1077 - Birth of Baked ("Half-Baked") Apple (1077-) to Apple Brown Betty (23) and her lover Wanderlust Baker (21).
1079 - Birth of Apple Cider to Apple Brown Betty (25) and her lover Wanderlust Baker (23).
1081 - Birth of Mi Amore Cadenza in Hollow Shades. Wanderlust Baker (25) leaves Apple Brown Betty (27) for good. Pie Chart (22) earns a BA in Accounting from Pranceton.
1082 - Birth of Raspberry Lynn “Berryshine” Punch in Ponyville, Shining Armor in Canterlot. Igneous Rock Pie and Cloudy Quartz of South Dunnich declare their love.
1083 - Birth of Apple Fritter. Apple Brown Betty (29) and Apple Split are wed. Bright Macintosh (20) and Pear Butter (21) are wed in April. The Pear family moves to Vanhoover.
1084 - Birth of Little Macintosh Apple (later known as Big Macintosh) to Bright Macintosh (21) and Buttercup (22) in June. Birth of Cosmic Red Carrot in Ponyville, Written Script in Canterlot. Birth of Candace ("Candy") Apple to Apple Brown Betty (30) and Apple Split.
1085 - Lemon Quartz (10) and Oh Shiny (9) become friends.
1086 - Birth of Maud Pie in South Dunnich. Pie Fighter (17) saves Rough Neck (17)'s life, and they declare their love. Birth of Cloud Kicker at the Kicker Compound near Canterlot.
1087 - Pie Chart (28) leaves the itinerant Earth Ponies to work for a Manehattan drayage firm.
1088 - Birth of Landscape Carrot and Blackcherry Lee “Cheerilee” Berry Punch in Ponyville.
1089 - Birth of Applejack to Bright Mac (26) and Buttercup (27) in November. Birth of first son to Pie Chart (30) and Trail Dancer (28). Pie Fighter (20) and Rough Neck (also 20) are wed. Lemon Quartz (14) and Oh Shiny (13) fall in love.
1090 - Birth of Golden Harvest, a relative of Morning Harvest Apple, in Ponyville and Trixie Lulamoon to Crescent Starshine and Jack Pot in Neigh Orleans. Birth of the eldest child and daughter to Pie Fighter (21) and Rough Neck (21). Birth of Cheese Sandwich to Hay Burger Sandwich and Mozarella Pockets of Bayroan, Neigh Jersey. 1914 - The Lippanzer General Staff realizes the long-term military potential threat from the United States of Amareica. In consequence, they only carry out limited submarine warfare rather than unrestricted submarine warfare, resulting in far less deaths to Amareican mariners and passengers than this would have otherwise. Lippanzer also refrains from covert bombing attacks on Amareican munitions plants. This means that Albionish commerce is less damaged by the war; but it also means that Amareican sentiments toward Lippanzer remain neutral. Steel Thunder raids New Mexicolt, and General Black Jack is dispatched to chase him into Mexico.
1916 - Birth of Rich Greentree.
1917 - With the Mexicolt campaign dragging on and no threat from Lippanzer, President Dapper Foot massively reinforces the US Army in Mexicolt, with the intent of defeating the rebels and permanently securing the border. These major Amareican reinforcements defeat all rebel forces in Northern Mexicolt and gain control of the towns in that part of the country.
1918 - Collapse of Rushia, start of the Rushian Civil War (1918-20) between Reds and Whites. Lippanzer shifts its forces westward and launch their final offensive against Gallia. Paris falls, and the Western Allies sue for peace. End of the Great War with a victory for Lippanzer (but not Österreich, which has collapsed). Lippanzer forces move into former Österreich-Hunland territories to restore order.
Mexicolt rebel forces crushed by Amareican and Breezian government troops. Amareica permanently annexes a buffer zone in northern Mexicolt; Nimble Breeze has no choice but to accede to this, given Amareica’s far greater power. Birth of Sweetie Finemare.
1919 - Communist outrages against Lippanzer forces and officials in Österreich-Hunland are used by Lippanzer as a pretext to intervene in the Rushian Civil War. The veteran Lippanzer Army, now with open sea lanes and thus ample supplies, joins forces with the Whites and smashes the Reds.
1920 - Rushian Civil War ends in a White victory. The Rushian Empire is restored -- however, Lippanzer retains control of the lands ceded under the Tree Town Treaty, and additional areas, comprising the Boltic States, Ponyland, and parts of Byelorussia and Borderland. Rushia is permanently weakened by the loss of this western zone.
1920s - Albion has less prestige after the Great War, so Caneighda drifts more firmly into the Amareican orbit. The "buffer zone" in the South attracts Mexican irredentism. American fascist tendencies of the Progressives of this time period remain respectable. Österreich is restored under the rule of King Quiet Triumph, a Horseburg.
1936 - Sweetie Finemare and Rich Greentree meet, love and marry. Sweetie's lax experimental safety procedures inadvertently give Rich Greentree cancer due to radiation exposure.
1940s - Caneighda is absorbed by the United States, federating as a unit. Amareica fights in the Neighponese Ocean War. In the early phase of the war, Japan looks to be winning, and a militaristic (fascist) Mexicolt government decides now is the time to strike to retake their lost territories. V-J Day sees US troops occupying the whole country and putting down all resistance mercilessly, leading to its absorption into the US. The US is reorganized into the North Amareican Federation.
1940 - Death of Rich Greentree, husband of Dr. Sweetie Finemare, of bone cancer, helped along to euthanasia by Finemare, who never quite forgives herself for this necessary murder.
1945 - The Manna-Hatten Project begins, aimed at developing a nuclear bomb. Dr. Sweetie Finemare is among the scientists recruited for this project.
1947 - The people of the North Amareican Federation detonate their first nuclear bomb.
1950 - Birth of Able Medal.
1953 - Canterlot is founded in Califoalnia. Birth of Bright Fields.
c. 1960 - Foundation of the Geosophist Movement.
1964 - Crescent Glow, an Amareican, leads the first crewed mission to the Moon. He becomes the first human to fly a human-built spaceship to and walk upon the surface of another world.
1976 - Principal Celestia is born to Able Medal and his wife, Bright Fields.

Equestrian Culture

Equestria is nominally a pentarchy. At its top are the Princesses, who theoretically serve as arbitrators and judges of the rest of the government. Below them sit the Day Court, made of hereditary nobles (divided into the Lords Spiritual—Harmonist ministers—and Lords Temporal) vying for prestige and power. The Day Court has legislative and executive power, and is also Equestria’s primary legal institution. It is technically subordinate to the will of the Princesses, though they almost never impose it. The Day Court creates most of the laws of Equestria (making it a de facto oligarchy).
Below the Day Court are the Lord Mayors and Municipal Councils, both of which are democratically elected by the common citizenry of Equestria. Each town and city in Equestria has a mayor and council that administer their charges and carry out and enforce the laws of the Day Court. It is important to note that while the mayors are below the Day Court in power, they are not subordinate to it and can object or overturn Day Court decrees with popular vote. Finally, each town/city of note has a Representative of the Day Court appointed to it by Celestia. The Representative serves as the voice of the town/city to the Day Court and vice-versa. It is their job to ensure that the Day Court is kept appraised of the needs of their charge, and also usually relay edicts and announcements from the Day Court to their charge.
There are 35 seats in the Day Court—18 Lords Temporal and 17 Lords Spiritual.
The official title for a Lord Temporal is “Lord” while the official title for a Lord Spiritual is “Minister”.

Equestrian Geography

The mountain Canterlot rests upon is called “Mount Avalon”.
“Canterlot” is not a literal translation from Ponish to English. A literal translation would read “Cantered Slopes Cliff side City of the Rising Sun”.

Foreign Geography

Centaurs and gargoyles primarily come from the Midnight Kingdom, the capital of which is Vipra-La. The people are sometimes called Viprallans.
The Midnight Kingdom is a patriarchy.
The upper half of the centaur body plan closely resembles the tsul’kalu.
Tartarus has multiple levels. When the Elements of Harmony entered it to interrogate Tirek, they were only on the first floor. The lower floors are only accessible by a teleportation spell known by the Guardians of Tartarus (one of whom is Scorpan).
The War for Equestria, featured in the movie, was instigated by the Storm Empire, the capital of which was the Isle of Storms.
Zebra shamans commonly speak in rhyme as a symbol of respect, as it shows that effort is put into speaking properly.
Although humans have never lived on Equus, there was an extremely similar species called the Shetlanteans. Unlike Tellurian humans, they didn’t have unnatural colors.
Some non-avian dinosaurs are still alive on Equus.

History

The last time at which no creature on Equus could be labeled as “sapient” was 15 million years ago.
Ponies and the other horses of Equus are descended from subsapient horses called tarpans. Tarpans are still alive, and some are domesticated, generally used to pull carriages.
On Equus, civilization began in 12,000 BHW, and Tellus, 9250 BTH.
The three tribes which united to form Equestria:
- The Hyracotherium Republic
- The Pegasus Mandate
- The Kingdom of Unicorns
Citizens of the Hyracotherium Republic worshipped the Æsir, the king of whom was Sleipnir. They originally came from the earth pony Horse culture, which was the predecessor to Hyracotherium.
The Unicorn Kingdom was patriarchal, while both the Pegasus Mandate and the Hyracotherium Republic were matriarchal. (Equestria is a very slight matriarchy. Despite this, it is traditional for only stallions to serve in the Royal Guard, as they are seen as more expendable and more physical. Unlike in human cultures, these are considered signs of low status.)
Star Swirl was trained by the Elk wizard Olórin.
The Declaration of Dependence is the founding document of Equestria, signed in 1 AHW.
Celestia first raised the Sun around 2 AHW.
Celestia and Luna became princesses around 2-4 AHW.
Lord Tirek was once prince of the Midnight Kingdom in Neighsia Minor, which is inhabited by centaurs. His father was King Vorak.
The unicorn who befriended Scorpan was not Star Swirl, but a wizard named Silver Mist who had a similar wardrobe.
He befriended Scorpan around 2 years after Discord was sealed in stone.
Queen Chrysalis is the daughter of King Metamorphosis and Queen Consort Alteratia. Unfortunately, both parents died when she was a toddler. She became Queen of the Hive, although a regent ruled until she became old enough. Not long after becoming full Queen did she invade Canterlot and failed.
Cozy Glow’s attack on Equestria was rooted in a childhood of neglect and/or abuse, which resulted in her growing up to believe that the only thing worth seeking in life was power.

Language

Ponish is the language of Equestria. It evolved with the influence of the Pegasean and Crystal-Imperial languages.
Old Ponish is descended from the same language as Old Horse, which was in use by pre-Hyracotherium earth ponies.
Both Old Ponish and Crystal-Imperial came into use by the Unicorn Kingdom. However, both were left to academic use by the founding of Equestria, having been replaced by Middle Ponish (the dialect spoken by Luna while using the Royal Canterlot Voice).

Notable Individuals

Celestia’s full name is Celestia Solaria Invicta, while Luna’s is Luna Selena Nyx.
“Cherry Rose” is the name of Fluttershy’s mother.

Religion

Harmonism, or The Way of The Harmony, is the primary religion in Equestria. It highly venerates the Princesses, but does not worship them.
There are many smaller religions. Some worship the Princesses, and others are Tribal Pagans. There are also religions introduced from outside of Equestria.
Equestrian Tribal Paganism resembles the Neopagan movement and Chinese folk religion of our world.
Zecora is a member of the Zebrican chapter of an religious order called “the Order of the Harmony”. One aspect of their mission is to combat the “Evil Stars”.
The Yehvist Onagers are a monotheistic ethnoreligious group who worship a deity named “Yehveh”. Yehveh is usually, but not always, called “the Allfather”.
The concept of “angels” originated in Yehvist mythology, but was gradually assimilated into mainstream Equestrian culture.
12.6% of the Equestrian population follows a religion other than Harmonism. 8.2% practice princess worship, 0.7% practice a tribal religion, 0.5% practice a religion that was invented after Hearth’s Warming, and 3.2% practice a religion introduced from outside of Equestria.
Fluttershy was raised in, and still follows, Tribal Paganism, specifically the Pegasus Tradition.

Tellurian Religion

Out of the human Elements of Harmony, Dash and AJ are non-religious but have religious families, Fluttershy is Conservative Harmonist, Pinkie is something akin to Amish, Rarity and Twilight are non-religious and have non-religious families, and Sunset Shimmer didn’t change her beliefs while living in the human world.

Tellurian history

For every year that passes on Tellus, 1.4 years pass on Equus. This system became permanent when Twilight Sparkle created the machine allowing her to travel to Tellus at any time.
Before that point, the situation was as follows: For every year that passed on Tellus, 24.8 years passed on Equus. However, when an individual on Equus crossed the portal, the system reverted to the previously stated system for about 11 months.
Sunset Shimmer came to Tellus on the approximate date of May 4, 1094.
2,000 years ago, Tellus’s Neighropa was ruled by a state called the Vitric Empire, the capital of which was Vitreus.
The Kingdom of Gallia split up soon after Celestia’s death. The name “Gallia” would be passed onto the Western part, while the Eastern part became known as the Allfather’s Sacred Empire.
Because of sparse record-keeping during the Middle Time of Thrones, the Angel Sisters are mostly considered mythical nowadays. There is even an amusement park attraction centered around Nightmare Moon in the theme park Equestria Land.
King Starfire was the great-grandson of King Magnus (Charlemagne).
The name of Starfire’s father was Starflame.
King Magnus was the grandson of Searing Hammer (Charles Martel), founder of the Hammer Dynasty (Carolingian Dynasty).
Brave Heart (a woman) is the current President of the North Amareican Federation.

Thaumatology

Definition of psychokinetic energy: The energy exerted by a physical event caused by a conscious entity without a medium (such as muscles) describable by conventional physics. Note that the standard laws of thermodynamics do not appear to apply to this type of energy. Must be produced (directly or indirectly) by entities with advanced comprehension and control of extra-spatiotemporal reality. The words “psychokinetic” and “thaumic” are interchangeable.
Magic has two sources: Chaos and Harmony. There is a third force, Order, but it does not play a direct role in creating magic. Instead, it provides the counterbalance to Chaos that allows Harmony to do its work.
The Tree of Harmony and the Castle of Friendship are inhabited by separate minds.
Humans have begun to spontaneously burst into song as a result of magic leaking out of Equestria.
Special talents are assigned by Harmony, using an algorithm where A. a large number of possible scenarios are allocated to potential special talents and ranked based on their utility to the pony and the planet as a whole, and B. Harmony Magic creates a feedback loop where one’s brain wiring is adjusted to enhance one’s aptitude toward a particular skill, as well as the personality elements driving the pony to work on that skill.
Spontaneously bursting into song is a product of Harmony Magic.
Pinkie Pie is a reality warper (but not a fourth wall breaker). This is actually an extremely rare earth pony ability. Some other earth ponies, such as Maud Pie and Cheese Sandwich, have at least one of her abilities (Pinkie Sense).
Equestrian leather originates from cattle culture’s avoidance of waste.
The human counterparts of the Cutie Mark Crusaders are called the Dream Mark Crusaders.
Pinkie Pie is aware of many of her alternate selves in separate universes.
The protein chromelanin is responsible for unnatural coat/skin colors in ponies/Tellurian humans. .
