Lots of idea fragments · 3:51pm Sep 10th, 2018
As a writer, I'm pretty bad. I tend to have great idea pieces, but making a whole story, one where things flow properly and there's connection and what not, that's just not something I can do.
But I do have a lot of little ideas. Most of them are for Fallout Equestria. Because I like the setting. I just suck as a writer.
So, in order to feel better about my being a horrible writer, here are a bunch of my thoughts (in no particular order), that you're free to use if you can use them. I'm never going to use them, so someone might as well get some use out of my bad ideas.
- The Crusader Institute of Technology; basically a copy of the Institute from Fallout 4. The Crusaders were quite advanced in the Fo:E setting, so it would make sense that there was a school designed to bring those minds together.
- Story: Cloud 9; what happens when a cloud technician pegasus from the Enclave is captured by sky pirates in the days after the fallout of Little Pip taking control of the SPP. Each "Cloud" is effectively a Enclave "District", with 8 known civilian ones and a mysterious 9th still looming across the skies.
- Cloud Computing; clouds do a lot of thinks for the Enclave. You can plant seeds in them and cloud farm, but you could also use all that mass of electricity to make a huge decentralized computer. Pip ran into cloud keyboards, it would make sense that clouds themselves would make up parts of their computer system. Huge sheets of clouds, all computing, all processing. For what? YOU DECIDE! (It's probably something evil and Enclave-ie though)
- Rebuilding: One of the parts of Fallout 4 that I loved was building settlements. Each one I tried to make unique. One was a roadside motel made from assorted, mismatched parts. Others were theme-based ones like a hotel made from train cars. And others were small towns with imposing defenses. What would that look like from the perspective of those in these small settlements, to have somepony make a place both unique and yet practical?
- General Location idea: Vanhoover would be a unique place since it would be away from most of Equestria without being outside of Equestria or part of the Badlands, and you'd have Grand Pear being a bigger influence instead of Sweet Apple Acres. Could even make this the setting for the Crusader Institute of Technology, since it's near water, yet wouldn't be in areas more likely to have been visited/touched upon by Little Pip or other writers. Luna Bay would make a great Far Harbor replacement.
- General Location idea: Klugetown; as seen in the MLP: The Movie, it was already quite like a mess of construction you'd see in Fallout. Well, if they were out of the way enough, they might have been able to benefit from the fact it's not part of Equestria yet still a stone-throw away. Could have expanded, with previously mentioned sky pirates bringing in treasure and loot from raids on raider gangs and Enclave cloud outposts. In a world of destruction, the one sitting on the most junk is the one with the most power. And if you're already sitting on a pile of junk, you're rich.
- Mareship Xeno: ALIENS! Oh no! They've foalnapped some poor pony from the wasteland. What could these weird aliens want? Why are they so upset? Why do they stand on 2 legs and not 4? What if Lyra was right all this time and HUMANS DO EXIST... and those humans are the aliens who are torturing poor ponies for some unknown reason, in the depths of space?!?
I'm sure I had more ideas, more thoughts, more stuff. But like I said, I'm not a good writer. I just have lots of these little idea fragments. If I remember anything, I might edit this later.... or make another blog. One of the two.
Leave feedback if you want. It'll mean something if you do.
