Blast From The Past: Eureeka's Castle

Eureeka's Castle was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid.

It was a puppet show set in a fantasy backdrop. Of course I was drawn to it immediately because I love all things fantasy. :P

Thank you to Eddy13 for this description: "The story follows a clumsy and somewhat inept apprentice sorceress named Euereka who lives in a musical castle along her friends. The castle has a key on the side which can be turned by a giant to bring certain magical aspects of the castle to life. Some other characters in the show are a child-like dragon named Magellan who has a pet named Cooee, a vain and egotistical bat named Batty who has a pet spider named Webster, a couple of practical joking peanut butter-loving twins named Bogg and Quagmire who lived in the moat, a handyman and tinkerer named Mr. Knack, a trio of mice, and three singing statue fish."

I always felt that the characters were all very charming and likable. Each episode taught important messages like having patience, getting along with others, and other positive themes you often find in children's shows but with a fantasy twist (since it is set in a fantasy world).

I think it would be cool if they rebooted it in some way.

For now, I only have my memories. T^T

Also, here is a fun fact: the show episodes were written by R.L. Stine who is also the author of the Goosebumps book series.

This was the opening theme and closing theme.

4919870 That's a good point. Well, there's always reruns. :P

I don't know if I remember that show. I do remember Blue's Clues.

Damn, never heard of this show. what year is it from?

4920641 Blue's Clues was released after Eureeka's Castle was on the air. :)

4920695 Eureeka's Castle was released in 1989. It ran on television until 1995. I caught the reruns in the 90s and they actually had a bunch of reruns on Nick Jr. up until the late 90s/ early 2000s.

Fun fact: the show episodes were written by R.L. Stine who is also the author of the Goosebumps books.
