Today was the last day of my internship with State Farm this summer. They graciously released us early for our last day, even though we're being paid for a full day's work, which is nice.
Unfortunately, I am not walking out of the door with an offer in hand, although the other L/H intern did. I am not surprised. Paul is extremely skilled with computers, and his projects this summer were of greater import, and I'm sure he impressed people very well. I was also informed, that, around this time of year, the budget is still being worked out. If there are funds and a need for someone with my aptitudes, they should let me know in time.
However, my supervisor was very satisfied with my serving my internship. Outcomes were good; there was nothing where I fell short of expectations. He said he was glad to have me as a mentee for his first time supervising an intern. I myself am very grateful to have had this experience.
