me checking the dislike ratio on my new story

Glad to know bigotry is still alive and well in this fandom.

It's glad to see some of us didn't watch the same series as I did.

    So where I've been

Okay, uh... how do I begin this? Well, I suppose I should start with the obvious. Yes, I've been distracted. If you follow me on Archive that should be obvious. And if you don't, you totally should btw. Yes, I'm shameless.

Possible Story Idea · 5:17pm Jul 1st, 2018

Okay, this is probably one of those ideas that I'll never go through with, but I would like to hear your thoughts on nonetheless. Ever since the introduction of Kamen Riders into the Wild Access universe, no thanks to the support of Shagohad and Thunderclap, I always wanted to try my hand at writing a pure Kamen Rider story, not Riders just teaming up with Rangers and being pushed to the side more often than not. So, late last night, this sorta came up.

A delinquent with nothing better to do, and a former child prodigy far away from home. The unlikeliest of partnerships, to be sure. Hell, they probably never would have met had a certain Mystable account basically make Canterlot High a "You are not welcome here" zone for one Sunset Shimmer. perhaps because seeing a fellow Alpha kicked to the curb like that, or perhaps just because or some rare act of kindness, Gilda takes her in and the two strike up an unlikely partnership.

Things go well, for a time... Until Sunset stumbles across a crack in reality and discovers maybe Equestria isn't just the only alternate dimension out there who has inhabitants who want to take a chunk out of her new home. In-between the backstabbing and betrayals, a real Warring States period for Canterlot High if anything else, Sunset and Gilda discover survival's just a tad bit overrated, you gotta live a little as well right?

(Kamen Rider Gaim crossover)

Unfortunately, there's sorta a few problems. One, as pointed out to me by themouthofmush over Discord was and I quote: I don't know enough to warrant it being my realm, as you state, but can say that it sounds like you are trying too hard. it feels like you essentially did "what was the cool parts of gaim" and forced into EQG.

As told to me by another friend: I think you're missing some details. I got that Gilda and Sunset become friends after Sunset is kicked out of CH (I think) and there's something about another dimension. But that's all I got.

And I reiterate, even I had doubts about going into this idea. I mean, balancing the Anon-A-Miss bits and the parts of Gaim everyone likes, namely the armored riders fighting each other or Helheim's creatures would be a difficult thing to do. Personally, I want your thoughts on this matter.

I think this could be a good story, but tying it into Anon-A-Miss will make that storyline a major plot point. That whole story arc is very controversial in and of it self with people wanting it to be dealt with in a more realistic way and who was actually posting everything have real consequences.

If you where to do this idea the whole Anon-A-Miss story would need to wrapped up by the middle of the story at the latest becuase any longer and people would be getting frustrated by Sunset not getting the closure she needs. Really the three chapter arc in Making Family starting here does a good job showing the damage that Sunset went through. There are plenty of stories on this site that deal with the what if Sunset wasn't able to prove her innocence and I feel that it would just be a distraction in this story if drug on too long.

Hmh, interesting. First of all this has already mayor bonus points from me since I love reading EQG x Kamen Rider stories, so there is that. And Sunset as a Kamen Rider works wonderfully.

The idea is interesting to say the least, bringing Anon-A-Miss into this is interesting and can lead to good character development for everyone involved, but could easily break the story if the Main 6 come off as to mean and malicious. But I think Gaims general ideas would work quite well with the setting, even if I personally didn’t like Gaim, its ideas were good, just not used very well in my opinion. Giving Sunset Gilda as a main support is definitely interesting and her rather possessive personality could rile up a lot of conflict without feeling forced and in the long run could benefit her as well. And with making the setting Canterlot High it will probably feel like a living place, if done correctly, since we already know the school. Also lends itselfe well for conflicts.

So, all in all, I like the idea. And a fusion between Kamen Rider and EQG can be done phenomenally, so if you decide to write it, I’m very much willing to devour it :pinkiehappy:

I've taken both of your thoughts on the Anon-A-Miss angle in mind, and I've come up with a possible solution or plot point that could tie into this. If the name Kougane sounds familiar to either of you, then you might know where I'm going with this. The guy literally feeds off negative emotions as it is with those little locusts he has under his command, and by the end of Gaim, if I remember correctly, used them to power up his destroyed Lockseed and become Kamen Rider Jam. Actually, to quote the Kamen Rider wiki: Kougane's grasshopper-shaped minions. They contain his sentience, and move through Kougane's will. The Seeds infect their target by corrupting them, bringing out their inner-evil. After the evil succeeds in suppressing the target, Kougane absorbs them into the Ringo Lockseed. If the evil fails to suppress the target, the seed transforms the target into its dark form. The seeds can also form into another monster or can be used by Kougane to possess another individual.

I think you can see where I'm going with this, have Kougane be the big bad behind all the Anon-A-Miss mess, and have him be behind the CMC's frankly childish actions. It'd be just the kind of thing he'd do, let chaos run rampant so he could feed off everything. Now, while it wouldn't excuse the Rainbooms completely, I could probably have the little locusts effect their moods just a bit, making their anger more volitle and driving them to do what they pulled. Mind you, I could take this one step further, and with all the negative emotions flying around Canterlot High, Kougane, he could easily go one step further and regain his full strength and become Mars once more. Now, for the threats from another dimension, if I wanted to make this more than a miniseries, I could easily just make them Equestrian threats and the like, popping in and out. Manticores, Hydras and the like. Those types of things are perfectly suited for a Rider to go up against.

Now, I thought a bit on what Riders Sunset and Gilda would become, and Baron would probably make a return as Sunset's form, given her former ruler of the school phase, and frankly, I have a love affair with the armor anyways. Works with her former Equestrian heritage as well, given the whole European Knight gimmick it has going on.

Now Gilda, that's a bit tougher. Given the whole tough girl personality, along with possible delinquent, I have two choices. The boxer themed Kamen Rider Knuckle or the Roman Gladiator themed Kamen Rider Bravo.

Your thoughts?

Hmm, interesting. I never really seen much of Kougane since I rarely watch Kamen Rider Movies and skipped the last episode of Gaim simply because I didn't really care and wanted to get to Drive, but that sounds like a good purpose for him in the story. Like it.

Hmh, using Equestrian monsters for enemies? These would probably fit the rare Kaijus the Riders face, but not the Kaijin types they mostly face. So not sure on that one.

Baron, huh... Interesting. Yeah, I'm too biased for that, the fact that I jokingly called him Kamen Rider Moron the entire show is probably evidence enough for that :twilightblush:

Gilda, I would say Knuckles, firstly he has a final form, which Bravo lacks, so there is that and Knuckle is generally a character that fits Gilda better, she comes off as rather headstrong and stubborn and knuckles weapons mirror that rather well, clunky but effective. Bravo is more eloquent and graceful, doesn't fit in my opinion.

Ad the end a little personal opinion from me. I generally prefer more "OC" Rider, but well-utilized copies of older Riders can be just as entertaining. And in general, Gaim lends itself for this quite well, with the number of possible Lockseeds that are left out there, like, for example, Chilly-Arms, Pumpkin-Arms or if you want to go completely crazy Cokunut-Arms, but in the end you have to decide what you want to write and I'm sure I will read it regardless. Tokusatsu Content that interests me is rather rare on this side... sadly.

Oh, totally forgot:

"Kurumi Arms"

"Mr Knuckleman!"

I couldn't resist :twilightblush:
