Initially, I wanted to talk about my impressions of E3 and the surprises of Smash Ultimate (more competitive inclusivity, everyone's back, Ridley), but this is more important because it shows that people generally refuse to be happy, even if you give them everything they wanted.
Sometimes the fanaticism of people reaches such exaggerated levels that makes them commit despicable acts. For example we have the case of members of the community of Super Smash Bros. who have begun to harass the creator of the games, Masahiro Sakurai, for not fulfilling an absurd whim: include Waluigi as a fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Let's recap a little. After the revelation of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the jokes that mocked Waluigi being ignored to be included as a playable character in the game became recurrent on the Internet. While the memes were made with the intention of amusing the fans of the game, these were not taken with good eyes by many people who, faced with the situation, began to harass and complain to Sakurai for his decision to not include him and leave him as an Assist Trophy.
Regrettably, the situation got out of control and, what initially began as a mere joke, became annoying for the creative who has now received attacks and even threats due to the situation. To amend this, it's reported that Sakurai has already started to block all those people from whom he has received aggressions and, even, it's rumored that he could leave social networks if things continue to get worse.
Waluigi is not in for various reasons:
1. Nintendo just sees him as a joke.
2. It was a character created exclusively to go out in Mario's spin-offs.
3. The character has little to no personality (when Charles Martinet says details like this, it may be official, but it's coming from an alternate source and not from the game itself. Even the fucking Duck Hunt Dog has more personality than him).
The problem comes with the inclusion of Daisy.
I'm not going to lie... I was surprised to see her.
Being already a clone in the game, many people expected to see him inside because she had no chance for many, besides, he can have a more original moveset than her... But she's in and he's not.
However, does this justify the behavior towards Sakurai?
Obviously not. You have to thank him, not attack him or hate him. This isn't fanaticism, it's pure blindness. The people who asked for Bomberman are not behaving this way despite his confirmation as an Assist Trophy. So why can't others follow this example?
With this amount of hatred, do you think Sakurai wants to include Waluigi? If you are a fan, ask for him as civilized people, not as beasts or with death threats.
This shows me that gamers, in general, refuse to be happy, get angry for everything, don't like anything. There are always people who don't like something. And if he had been included, surely they would have complained as well and said that they had better put "insert popular character here."
We must remember the case of Ridley: he was a character that, despite his demand from the fans, many considered impossible to fit (myself included) because Sakurai also firmly believed that he was non-viable because of his size. Why Ridley and not Waluigi, who had more possibilities in every way? Simply because the fans demanded him for years and, being honest, Metroid was more urged to have a new character. Sakurai finally listened and accepted that feedback to finally put in Smash a character that he didn't want to include in the first place.
The inclusion of Ridley was a miracle and was the result of years of work and persuasion of the fans, it's true that it's a long campaign that very few are going to endure for how tedious it is, but it's better than insulting and that in the end, thanks to these insults, the creative decides not to pay attention to you.
Can not we be happy for once? Nobody reaches an accepted agreement. Haters and trolls are natural, but are you here to suffer or to have fun? It's true that many do it for fun, however before they were witty and insulting with education. Now, as everyone has a cell phone, the equivalent of a troll is anyone who mocks and believes himself superior and invulnerable just by being behind a screen and, therefore, not receive consequences for its actions.
We have to thank Sakurai for this game that he's giving us and to be happy for what we have. Masahiro Sakurai has worked to death in this game for all of us, he always says that he doesn't want to continue the saga and he's still here. Why? If he didn't love us, he wouldn't. He loves his fans and we must repay him not only by buying the game, but by thanking him for everything he has done and letting him rest, if we really enjoy this saga that he and his team brought us and we love so much.
With all of this in mind, if King K. Rool doesn't make it, promise me you won't go nuts and you'll enjoy the game anyway... ok?
EDIT: "CLEARLY, Nintendo does not hate Waluigi. Because here I am with him as my main character. I mean look, we're making every character that's ever been in a Smash Bros. game available in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. You would think that would be enough to satisfy the fans. But noooooo! The fans have to focus in on one character that isn't part of the series and to demand their inclusion."
With this statement Reggie has, whether he's aware or not, indirectly confirmed my arguments previously discussed. It's sad to see the fanbase burning in rage. I repeat what I said: With this amount of hatred, do you think Sakurai wants to include Waluigi?

why are people fucking complaining he brought back everyone just because he's not in atleast he's an assist trophy fucking be happy with that if it was up to me i would replace him as an assist trophy and not put him in either so be happy with what you fucking got ungrateful assholes i bet they suck at smash too. sorry it just piss me off when people can never be happy
