I show up in another video, also I am in need of some help... · 12:11am Jun 5th, 2018
First off, for those of you who don't know this, I love DnD 5e. Anyway here is a video and I actually show up in it for a few seconds.
At 0:21.
Isn't that cool!
Anyway now that, that is out of the way, I need your help. Not sure if any of you will be able to help me with this but I thought I would ask.
So this upcoming Sunday I will be GMing a DnD 5e game with 4-5 of my friends. However, there are some issues, that I thought I would ask about. I tried asking on Reddit, but that was unfruitful, but I thought maybe one of you might have a suggestion... or two.
Quote from Reddit:
So I have been wanting to do a DnD 5e campaign where the players don't go on an epic journey to mount blah blah to destroy item blank, but instead takes place in/around a city, where if the players mess up they will have to deal with the consequences.
Originally I was going to do my own Homebrew campaign, but then news of Waterdeep: Dragon Heist came out and I was excited and really wanted to do a campaign in that setting. Thus I have decided to do a campaign with my players that takes place in/around Waterdeep.
Now at this point the only modules that I know of that are currently available that take place around Waterdeep is Storm King's Thunder (which takes place in the region around Waterdeep) and Yawning Portal which kind of takes place underneath Waterdeep.
I have also created an NPC that seeks to unite all the players so they can eventually perform the heists (when that adventure comes out).
My problem is I don't want to force my players into a campaign where they have to take care of a bunch of giants and yawning portal seems to be designed to take place in an already established campaign then as its own campaign (I could be wrong about that).
So my question is, what should I have my players do this upcoming Sunday when I start this campaign? Should I have them meet and take them into the first yawning portal quest or is there something else I could do? Perhaps there is another short adventure I don't know about that takes place in Waterdeep that I could use.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
And there you have it.
Thank you all for reading this message.
