My Next Story? · 4:47pm Apr 27th, 2018
Hi Everypony, it's me. I've been thinking long and hard about what my next story is going to be, it's going to be a crossover, but I don't know yet If I should do it.
Idea: A Persona 5/Burning Star Saga/Equestria Girls Triple Crossover.
Reason: this is HEAVILY inspired by the author MythrilMoth's Persona EG story, where my characters from Burning Star Saga must do battle alongside the heroes of Persona 5, The Phantom Theives of Hearts
It will most likely be rated Teen, but I may make it Mature because of some of the things I have planned.
It also will finally explain who Burning Star and the Masters of Nature really are...
So vote, yay or nay on this.
Too many characters kill the story. Too many cooks in the kitchen, in other words. Tone down just how many characters you introduce in the idea, and you'll be fine.
In Sundered Universes, for example, it started out as just the Star Hunters and the Guardians of the Sun meeting each other and fighting against Midnight Sparkle. That seemed good to me, that seemed reasonable. Then we introduced in Nightmare Moon, Tirek, and Queen Chrysalis--all of which were killed off in the very same chapter they were introduced in. Then we had Stygian and the Pony of Shadows, who works with Midnight--but not really. Then we have Midnight Sparkle raising an army with Storm King yetis that are barely mentioned, plus, like, Cadence, Shining Armor, and Discord in chapter thirteen--and they're never brought up before or after again! Then we have Sombra back in another frickin' universe, the "Masters of Nature," and the devil himself involved as well--and all of them are fighting for the good guys. It's supposed to seem like it's a fight! It's supposed to seem like a struggle, not an errand!
Do most of, or even any of these characters really matter all that much to the story? No. No, they don't. If they aren't necessary, cut them out. The sheer amount of unnecessary and underdeveloped characters in the story makes it not only dizzy and indecipherable to read, but also infuriating as I try to keep track of what exactly is supposed to matter!
Do not make this mistake with yet another story.
