Going on an unexpected, but short, vacation

I will be mostly away from all things electronic due to the vacation.

Writing still going well though- won't write stuff on my phone unless inspiration strikes, since this is a family vacation over at least a few days of my nieces' spring break, and I know I'm all about some vague idea of "routine" and editing on my phone is possible but not my favorite thing to do.

See you in a few days.

    Writing Again

Have been chipping away at the next chapter of my big G5 story and I relaxed by playing the new Yakuza/ Like a Dragon game. Almost no lifed it, had an absolute blast with the story and characters and coming back to writing my own stuff feels fresh again.

Dunno when its coming out because sometimes I work on two stories concurrently but stuff is back to normal and that's a good thing.

Released another story- not my normal fare

I work on a few different projects between the big ones I focus on. I've spent like 2-3 years on this one to make me even comfortable to release it.

Plan to release a chapter a day until its done. (There's 3 total chapters so its going to be a rather quick release)

Going to be away for a few days due to the holidays, writing is slow but consistent

An early Merry Crimbus to everyone and I'm working on two or three different stories at once so the overall progress is slow but I don't foresee me releasing much of anything in January unless I focus hardcore on one story.

Might do that, but no promises. Still happy holidays and all that stuff. See you soon in 2024.

Going to write again · 7:16am Apr 1st, 2018

Came up with some ideas for the next chapter. Might not start immediately since it's both April Fools and Easter.

It's April Feaster Day.

Seriously though, I'm going to be writing the chapter once Easter festivities are done. Don't know when that'd be but it's 2 am here and while I brainstorm really well at 2 am, I don't write very focused and more concise scenes that have a real point to them. I'm saying that my really random stories have all been written at two am and I don't need that tone for this story.

And that's me saying that even though the last chapter had a decidedly lengthy discussion between the main characters about if pegasi wore makeup. There was more than just that since I was being hyperbolic right this instant and also I used the beginning of the chapter as an awkward and much lighter beginning when compared to the rest of the chapter. Still have no idea why I did that, but it seems to work.

Or I just knew that some cute, fluffy stuff was needed in a romance drama. It's not like you can only ever have drama all the time. But I'm rambling.

So yes, I'm going to be writing chapter 10? I haven't released anything new on the other story fronts but it's slow going when your brain keeps coming up with one story and it's like laser focused for once. I can't say it's a manic episode cause that's not it and with my general mood, I'd really notice if I was in a manic or elevated state. I guess it's nice having one story be ever present.

Bit annoying- but after a few years of stopped and never finished stuff due to interest waning- often after one chapter- though honestly that was often due to school and personal issues massively destroying my will to write- it's nice focusing primarily on one story and having little to no writers block. It still does happen, but not usually because I don't want to write. Now it's because I want to word each section correctly. Even if that involves studying how makeup is applied (even if in the scheme of things that's irrelevant) or figuring out how to deflect a punch and what sound a broken bone sounds like. Or reading up on way too much Communist tracts and figuring out that Starlight running a communist village in Equestria would be the most horrifying thing due to the culture of Equestria being both herd based and yet also highly individualistic due to how important finding your cutie mark and excelling in your own special field that gives your life it's meaning would feel threatened by Starlight's commune that strips away the purpose of ponies lives and also forcing them to fit in with a highly rigid and punishment based society.

Yes this means I've been thinking way too much about how messed up Equalist agitators would be with mind control spells. I want to get to the village of hers cause that chapter really really really wants to be told, but I know that skipping to that place without doing some character stuff would just pile on dark stuff upon more dark stuff.

Also that's chapters away at this point, even with how I made the Canterlot guards way more competent at their jobs.

But yeah, that won't mean there is no Starlight in this chapter. She kind of just barges in with one scene fully formed and I just go oh yeah sure I'll just let that scene happen. A lot of these scenes have just been gliding out quick. Any time Spitfire's been in the story has mostly been chunked out in one sitting- two at max. And two was because my typing window closed and didn't save my progress. Made me go in a different way but it came to the same destination. And that's the point. The story beats for this arc are all planned. The journey to each is not.

I'm not saying this story has a life of it's own, but in my experience, it really hasn't happened before that I can type out chunks of chapters so quickly. At least I'm having fun with it. And that's what matters.
