Smashmania: Smash for Switch SHOULD be a port · 3:29pm Mar 19th, 2018

Being a Smash fan, I'm surprised for no posting Smash-related content that much. So, during this year and, until it comes out, expect posts about Smash for Switch, starting with this one.

I firmly believe that the next Smash is and should be a port, not a new game. Here are my arguments for this with the evidence that other fans themselves have said (and if it's a new game, it's not for those reasons)

1. Nintendo and HAL Laboratory without Namco.

They say that, if this was a port, it should say Namco-Bandai in the lower right part of the trailer. This is a trademark patent and rather indicates that HAL Laboratory is the original creator of the game.

2. Sakurai's statements through Twitter.

For a company, every launch is a new game, regardless of whether it's a port, remake, new game or new entry. It's wrong for companies to sell a game as a port. Pokémon UltraSun and UltraMoon were sold as new games. Sakurai hasn't even decided the name of the new Smash yet, so it can be called Super Smash Bros. Deluxe, Super Smash Bros. for Switch or simply Super Smash Bros. Hyper Ultra Turbo Champion Past Perfect Alpha Arcade HD Edition: Race Wars.

3. The logo.

Seriously? Are the different borders a sign of a new game? It only indicates that this game is looking for an identity of its own.

4. The game is new because the Smash for Wii U was just finished and this game was started immediately.

How is this verified? Sakurai has worked on this to death, do you really think he's going to get to work on another game right away? Also, how can you work in a game for a console whose hardware has been around for a year? The final design of the console at that time was not yet decided, unless... *gasp* it's the software already developed.

5. Inklings and Breath of the Wild Link.

The purpose of the Deluxe versions is to expand the character template and game modes. Besides, the Inklings were the most obvious choice of the newcomers and Breath of the Wild Link is more probably going to be an alternate costume, showing that older characters can also change.

The downside of today's society is that it believes everything you tell it, in addition to believing in conspiracy theories if there are no answers, waiting for them to be true and forgetting about what matters the most. What's more convenient?

Many ask to remove unpopular characters such as Wii Fit Trainer and the Miis, but the character roster has grown so much that I don't see any need to continue removing. They ask for a story mode (me too), but something similar to Subspace Emisssary is not necessary at all because it was fun just the first time (something similar to Melee's is more likely). This Smash was almost perfect in my opinion.

The worst thing is that, being a new game, I can imagine people remaking the tops of characters they want for the next Smash, asking for bullshit like Goku, Shrek or Mickey Mouse. Do you really want to see that junk content again? And I know many of you are going to say mockingly "I told you it was a new game". Really, your life is so pathetic that you'll be aware of that? If it's a new game, it's a new game. Period, I'll buy it anyway.

But what do you think?
