An idea for Wallflower Blush · 6:59am Feb 26th, 2018
(I assume, by this time, you've seen Equestria Girls: Forgotten Friendship; spoilers follow.)
The character of Wallflower Blush is an interesting one. A shy person with a history of awkward and embarrassing social interactions, she finds a magic stone that lets her erase these bad memories. But that erases all the memories from those encounters, which means every day she has to make these same initial awkward introductions.
A better use of the memory stone would be to remove not the memories of these encounters, but her own embarrassed feelings of these encounters. Let Sunset Shimmer remember meeting Wallflower Blush, let Wallflower Blush remember meeting Sunset Shimmer, but with Wallflower Blush not remembering whatever embarrassing aspect that led her to use the memory stone. I suspect that the people with whom she's interacting don't remember these encounters anywhere near as badly as her. The feeling of mortification wasn't mutual.
I'm not planning on writing a story along these lines, so if you like the idea, feel free to use it.
The question is whether the Memory Stone can cut that finely, preserving the information and extracting only the emotional context. For the purposes of this story, sure, but I suspect Wallflower had a few accidents along the way. Gives a whole new meaning to the term "mental scars."
