So, I recently got into the new MythBusters revival. Other than the new hosts and the updated graphics and opening sequence, the show is pretty much everything that I’ve learned to expect from from the old incarnation, science, engineering, and explosions. The dog was also an adorable if pointless addition.
The revival got me thinking, “If I could crossover Equestria Girls with MythBusters, who would I cast as who and why?” The following probably isn’t going result in the creation of a fanfiction because MythBusters doesn’t really have a narrative and is best communicated through a script format, which is against FIMfiction rules. So, without further ado, here is the possible cast for MythBusters EG.
Jamie Hyneman:
Okay, I’m starting with Jamie because he is arguably the most iconic and mythical MythBuster and because I’m slightly conflicted over who to cast as Adam. Anyway, my Equestria Girls casting choice for Jamie Hyneman is, drumroll please, SUNSET SHIMMER!
I’ll be honest, the main reason why I casted Sunset as Jamie is her hair. Sunset is famous in the brony fandom for having what almost everyone has dubbed “bacon hair.” Apparently, the red and yellow stripes and the wavy appearance gives Sunset’s hair an uncanny resemblance to cartoon bacon. Similarly, Jamie’s facial hair is famous for giving him the appearance of a walrus, which Adam has repeatedly made fun of him for on the show. Case in point, please observe this quote from the Ninja Special: “Come, Silent Walrus! Let us storm the castle!” If that episode was redone with my cast, the only thing different about that quote would be that “Walrus” would be replaced with “Bacon.” 
There is also one other reason why I think Sunset would make a good Jamie.As I mentioned above, Jamie as a MythBuster is considered to be rather mythical. If Adam Savage is to be believed, Jamie was in the mob, is an alien, is a robot, and/or is thousands of years old. Based on what I was able to find on the internet, jokes aside, Jamie truly is a bit of jack of all trades in real life. Some of his listed accomplishments include hitchhiking across the States, a degree in Russian linguistics, boating, scuba diving, and wilderness survival. Similarly, Sunset is also rather mythical and multi-talented, which isn’t hard when one is a former unicorn with talents in math, science, motocross, art, fencing, and gaming.
Adam Savage:
The Equestria Girls casting for Adam is honestly a bit of a toss up between Twilight Sparkle (SciTwi) and Pinkie Pie. On one hand, Twilight loves science, has a strong natural curiosity, and has had her fair share of science-related and curiosity-related mishaps (granted her first one wasn’t very funny). More importantly, out of all the girls, Twilight is the one who is most often paired and contrasted with Sunset, similar to how Adam and Jamie contrast each other.
However, Pinkie Pie is funnier, more excitable, and more animated. Plus, her magic power is literally making stuff explode, so she wouldn’t really be out of place as a MythBuster.
Now that I think about it though, Twilight kind of edges out over Pinkie Pie. Between the two of them, Twilight is a bigger nerd, and Adam is a huge nerd. Granted, he’s a lively and kooky nerd but still a nerd.
Tory Belleci:
Flash Sentry. My reasons are straightforward. On MythBusters, Tory is known for arguably three things, which are getting hurt, volunteering for dangerous stunts, and doing a lot of the heavy building. Likewise, Flash has taken quite a bit of abuse from the fandom.
Furthermore, fanfiction tends to portray Flash as having the ability to withstand a lot of abuse and a willingness to put himself in harm’s way.
To me, those characteristics just scream Tory.
Grant Imahara:
Micro Chips. I don’t think I need to explain this one.
Kari Byron:
I had originally chosen Sweetie Drops as Kari just because I wanted to keep the Build Team’s guy to girl ratio the same as the original show, but after some further consideration, I realized that Sandalwood would be a better choice. For one, Kari is a California vegetarian, and Sandalwood is a hippie. Also, Kari has an unstereotypical love of firearms and destroying cars, and I’ve read fanfictions where Sandalwood is similarly unstereotypical. For example, in one fanfic, he fires a rocket launcher, and in another one, he’s a Power Ranger. Furthermore, thanks to their appearance in “A Banner Day,” Sandalwood, Micro Chips, and Flash Sentry are often lumped together, and I already casted Micro and Flash as Grant and Tory, respectively.
I’ll admit this casting choice would make recreating the Battle of the Sexes Special difficult.
Now just for the fun of it, the hypothetical opening of MythBusters EG:
Narrator: Who are the MythBusters? Twilight Sparkle…
Twilight: Here comes chaos.
Narrator:…and Sunset Shimmer
Sunset: Quack, darn you!
Narrator: Between them more than 6 years of high school. Joining them: Micro Chips…
Micro: This is why we can’t have anything nice.
Narrator:…Flash Sentry…
Flash: (dressed in a red jogging suit in a bull ring with a bull) This is starting to feel like a bad idea!
Narrator:…and Sandalwood.
Sandal: My toast always lands butter side up.
Narrator: They don’t just tell the myths—they put them to the test.

Well, I was also thinking, 'Who's better to narrate than the 4th wall breaker?'
Also, with Pinkie being... Pinkie... she would question things and that would force the five to answer and thus explain to the audience
However, if we're to keep with the HuMane 7

Fluttershy as Kari
and Rarity as Grant
