Probably going to start writing again today.

I say today cause it's 2 am here but yeah got a few days of general rest from writing the story. Felt nice after a month of off and on writing. Back to writing though- mainly I have ideas and I'm slightly bored is all. Also for those wondering I have an idea for the next story I might work on, No real details besides that I am teaming up an older Sweetie Belle and Flurry Heart in it to go on an adventure- don't know when that's coming out but it's on the back burner. This gets done first.

Pre New Year's resolution is still to stick with one story at a time cause while I love diversifying, the idea that I was going with i.e. having like five super intensive stories that need tons of plotting to stay generally consistent in tone was falling around me and also to be honest, I was a complete mess- don't want to get into it but that really weird Rainbow Dash story a few months back? That two chapter thing? That was me working through a lot of stuff there. But overall 2018 is looking okay here. Sure I lost at least one person that I liked talking to but looking back that wasn't the most healthy friendship for either of us.

Boy did this go off onto a tangent. Pretty much one major story at a time cause then I can like relax and have a life and yet also be consistent and not have seven stories making me have to reread every chapter I ever put out to get what I was going to write next. I mean I've streamlined the process to now just look at maybe the chapter previous to a new one and then start writing. It's far less stressful. And yeah I know that I sometimes play fast and loose with the structuring of MLP canon- maybe you guys don't notice all that much but I have Twilight talking about not having another assistant or student in the newest chapter while also talking previously about Flurry Heart existing. Which is a mess for straight canon if you want to be very picky cause Starlight Glimmer was season 5. Flurry Heart was more season 6. And with Cloud Kicker talking about increases in sightings of Changelings, this should put that in season six. But I will have the season 5 Starlight plot in there somewhere maybe. If I do do it, it'd be probably far darker and weirder than the actual events. Also with the random thing of continuing to make ponies be horrible to those who tend to be just different enough by ostracism- which for a herd based sentient group should be awful- that makes me think automatically about Tempest Shadow and the whole backstory she had in the movie.

This is the stuff that keeps me up at night- I'm super particular about how the story should go and then there's entire sections that just appear out of nowhere thanks to how the story tends to write itself at times past the very small framework each chapter should hit. Like next chapter and probably the one after that introduces the more important Canterlot cast of characters in this arc and then back to slightly cute, secretly depressing life shenanigans.

I think Rainbow and Fluttershy need a slight vacation from Ponyville after the weird stuff went down with them. I see this arc being a bit longer than this starting one. I mean I already set up that Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy are a bit closer to one another and now they are generally sort of comfortable in Ponyville- that's their mostly stable home base. Let's shake up and truly get into another story theme next- fame and celebrity.

I'll focus on this story until it's done pretty much. It's probably the most fun- and best realized work I have had here. Though that doesn't mean I might release a cute or silly one shot. For some reason that tends to be my most liked works- weird off kilter yet safe humor. I think I might have a Tempest Shadow one shot in me somewhere since I have seen the movie and I liked it- no promises though.
