Thoughts on story: Will there be actual sex in it? · 7:39pm Nov 5th, 2017
Here's a nice question I just got on the story. Since I don't like often cluttering my story comments with stuff like this here you go.
"Is sex happening?"
Which is a good question- yes of course there is always sex happening in the story, but the point I try to make in the story with making Fluttershy pretty much write 50 Shades of Grey is that sex is only a portion of the story.
Also if I want to be honest, writing true sex scenes cause me a mix between complete worry that its terrible or boring or a panic attack that if I use too much of my experiences on that front I have a relapse of really bad memories- sure writing about stuff like that helps but I am particularly bad at thinking about it. Which I guess can be fun in a way in that I keep finding weirder ways to reference their parts that seem to matter.
Also going by the tag descriptions of each tag
"The sex tag, when used with a teen rating, is used as a warning that the story contains lightly-charged sexual situations, innuendo, or vaguely implied (but not described!) sexual acts. Some light kissing is fine, light touching generally is too, but if things get heavily charged, you need to move to the mature tag."
Which in my mind means that my story has sexual situations and a continuing romantic aspect and sex starting to be described- though since I find actually writing the sex scenes very awkward or sometimes I get too focused on describing stuff in my story I don't want to throw in actual sex all the time- I mean there's stories that tend to be that way but they make me a bit uncomfortable or they overdo the whole "here's sex guys" Sure maybe if I take out some of the more sexual jokes, maybe its only a light to heavy teen rating but I'm doing it more safe and since a lot of my future plots seem to be focusing on how life sometimes has depressing little moments like here you go, just in case, its mature- also it give me freedom if I want to get into some more dark elements in the future. It's more a freeing myself from worrying about how exactly each tag could be in a grey area it makes me worry less.
Also for example- chapters 1 and 2 happen over one day- 3,4,5 happen over a day each. It's weirdly been like four almost five days in
the story. Rainbow and Fluttershy are getting closer- Rainbow knows that Fluttershy wants to have a relationship and all that, but it's Rainbow that is both the most joking pony in the relationship and seemingly also the most worried about a relationship. Like time wise if I use the 50 Shades book timeline for example since I seem to be making a point there- the three books take up (mostly) four months of time. 120 days thereabouts.
Like if I use that for an example- the main focus of Fifty Shades, the stalking Christian Grey does to be near Anastasia Steele? That was day five or six. Weirdly that is almost on point for story beats- even though this story doesn't involve stalking people to get them to love you through a weird BDSM contract like no.
Sex is happening between other characters- they just aren't usually the focus so their encounters are obliquely mentioned. Like chapter 1 had that little scene with Pinkie and Twilight, and this new one had Rarity getting ready to go to Applejack, like they are happening offpage.
