Hey, everyone. I'm a stupid horse.
Sorry to bring this bad news, but the second chapter for The Collars of Desire is going to be delayed. I actually planned to get it to an editor either today or tomorrow and hopefully have it uploaded before Sunday (I was planning to try and release one chapter each week and try to have each chapter uploaded by the time Sunday comes around) but something happened...
I was stupid and only had a single copy of the document, and had it on my USB drive. So of course fate had to screw me over and I was stupid enough to not make a backup of my files before I formatted my USB drive. For anyone curious as to why I formatted the drive: My old laptop is crapped out and won't boot up and I thought I had a chance at restoring it if I made a bootable USB drive.
I'd made a backup of my USB drive several months ago when I needed it for other personal reasons, so before I formatted the USB to make a boot drive, I went to check if I still had the backups. I saw my folder labeled "USB Backups" so I was like, "Aww yeah, I'm good to go."
So I formatted it, erasing all the files that were on the USB, made the boot drive, and made the attempt to boot up my old laptop in an attempt to fix it. Of course it didn't work, so I didn't even get to gain anything from this mistake. When I brought the USB back to my current PC, I went to the USB Backups folder to go ahead and copy all the files back onto my USB drive... and guess what? None of them were there. None.
I hadn't realized that the last time I put them back on the USB, I did Cut and paste instead of Copy and paste.
So... Yeah. Lost the second chapter for The Collars of Desire. It was nearly finished too. Oh, and not only did I lose that, but I lost all of my art files. Bases, resources, character ref sheets, pony art, the cover art for the story, the outline for the story... Everything is gone.
Don't feel sorry for me though. Most of the art stuff that I absolutely need to have, I happened to be lucky enough to have saved to my Dropbox because I wasn't going to take any kind of risk losing that stuff.
But, I'm sorry to say this guys. The story is gonna be on hold for a bit while I rewrite the outline and get things ready to continue and all of that. Hopefully I'll have all that back up and ready to go soon so I can get the next chapter out to you guys as soon as I can. So drop the follow, make sure you've got notifications ready, and be on the lookout. Who knows, maybe I'll get inspired while rewriting the outline and end up making it even better than originally intended.
TL;DR
Lost the files on my USB, including the next chapter and the outline of the whole story. So it's delayed until I can get it rewritten.

You have my sympathies. Losing the product of hard work, whether it's physical or electronic, is always a blow.
