Just got back from seeing My Little Pony: The Movie and... I gotta say, I was very entertained. I enjoyed the mane 6 voice actresses we all know, but the celebrity voice cast did an outstanding job with their roles. The plot is like what we all see in the show but made into a movie. The 2D animation was just... oh wow was it just candy to my eyes. I enjoyed every second of it. It was awesome and adorable. The songs were all good. I enjoyed the song with the sea ponies, the opening song, the awesome song, and Rainbow by Sia. The characters were fun to watch -- especially Tempest. I can see why lots of fans love her. But I also enjoyed watching the pirate captain, Capper, and the sea ponies. The mane 6 were fun to watch, too. Rarity was the most fun and I got some chuckles out of her. The humor is great, even sprinkling some reference jokes I got immediately.
It was a fun film to watch. And I recommend it who's interested in seeing it in theaters.
What I didn't like about the movie? Well, I didn't read the comics so I'm just talking from what I've seen, I didn't think the Storm King was all that great. When he showed up, I just couldn't take him seriously. I took Tempest more seriously because she actually had more character in the movie than Storm King. He just appears and is suddenly the big bad. I don't know, the comics must explain a few things, but again I never read them and walked in half-blinded. lol. And there were some scenes you'd expect to see, and this is more of a small gripe, to me, but... (minor spoiler alert) Cadence at least tried, but Celestia and Luna didn't even fight back. I was hoping to see the princesses at least do something before being captured. Seriously, Celestia at least puts up a fight with Chrysalis before being captured. Oh well, what happened, happened. Don't get me started on Luna.
But that doesn't make me hate on the movie. The goods outweigh the bad and I had a blast watching the film.
I give it an A.
I saw it and the movie was dark but it was still awesome i gave it a A+
Overall I like the movie too. It was fun and that was the purpose of the movie. Did you know Cappers' song was the first time they incorporated Tango music into My Little Pony?
