Finally. New Chapter and Some Musings on Pony Addictions

First, I just wanted to thank the people who reviewed my story Starstruck. It really, really made me feel good about my writing and helped get this semi-massive next chapter out. I apparently wanted to hit a lot of points in that chapter. That said, anyone following Starstruck may want to know that chapters are uploaded randomly, and their chapter pictures even more randomly, because my internet is wonky.

Thirdly, in Chapter 4 of Starstuck I touch on some addictions that ponies can have. I know it's random but I wanted Braeburn and Soarin' drunk for semi-plot-related purposes so I spent hours wondering whether I should stick absolutely canon (salt and donuts) or something more believable (beer and whiskey and the like). In the end I mixed the two in my head-canon, but kept to salt and donuts in the chapter. If anyone comes by here for an explanation here it is:

Salt: dehydrates you like mad. So, I kind of went with a salt-lick type thing and a convoluted idea of the light-headedness that dehydration causes. At least, that's what Braeburn experiences in Chapter 4.

Donuts: with jelly filling and extra sprinkles. I concluded that I'd go with a sugar-high from this. Soarin' gets really hyper-high on the sugar rush and eventually crashes hard and falls asleep.

In my head-canon there is alcohol and the like, since if ponies farm then they probably figured out that fermented grape is wine and such, but, since you can get buzzes from sugar and salt, then only really serious ponies go for the "hard" stuff.
