Update #2 · 4:08pm Sep 27th, 2017
Hello everyone, here's another update for you on my real life issues and some writing updates
So, I wasn't able to spend as much time writing during my impromptu trip to my Grandmother's place as I would have liked, but all things considered, writing any at all was an achievement.
For Effigy of a Dragon, I was able to complete the rough draft of the entire prologue, which I will go back through for the final draft once I get through the first chapter's rough draft.
Still Ponnequin, on the other hand, I was only about to write about 500 words or so over the course of last week, so I'm sitting at about 2k words on that story so far.
Now that I got that out of the way, there are a few announcements I must make pertaining to my life. The first and foremost is with regards to my Grandmother. She passed away last Friday at 4:12 P.M. E.S.T. at the age of 90. The death was of natural causes, and all things considered, she lived a long life. I pray she is resting peacefully in heaven with her husband.
The next bit of news I have in store for you is that my birthday has come and passed as well. As of Monday, I am 27 years old. Unfortunately, I didn't get to celebrate it very long with my husband due to a very nasty tooth ache. I actually had a dental emergency rise up, and yesterday I got my wisdom tooth pulled. How I managed to live with the pain so long is beyond me.
My dentist said I needed to get my other three pulled as well because, sooner or later, they will lead to an infection. For now, though, they will have to stay in, as I do not have the money to have any more of them pulled right now, quite literally.
The final note I leave you on is my debt. Because I've been out of work two weeks now, my husband and I are kind of in DEFCON 1 over here in terms of our financials. We have to go over all our bills and see what we need to cut because, from the looks of it, our debt is only continuing to rise despite both of us having jobs now.
There is potentially an upside to this for you guys. I am financially motivated, now more than ever, to write. I was considering open up a Patreon and taking donations to motivate me to write significantly faster. This also seems like a good opportunity for me to jump onto the bandwagon of becoming an actual author by writing and publishing an original work as an e-book. Whatever will help us tackle some of our debts.
For any of you who have entered into my contest are are still working on stories entered into my contest, do not worry about not being paid if you are a winner. I had had the conscious to set aside that money before I opened up my contest, thankfully.
Speaking of the contest: There are only a few days left before the contest closes. The last time I checked, there were a total of six entries, all of which look promising. I encourage you to check them out if you haven't already in The Diamond Cutters group.
Well, happy birthday in that case!
That's a perfect cube.
Happy birthday. Sorry to read about your teeth and the bills. :(
