I'm Officially Done With Spike Episodes · 5:25pm Sep 14th, 2017
(A/N: I've since calmed down after writing this, and debated whether or not I should post it. I figured why not.)
Because of my work schedule, I haven't had time to write new chapters or watch any new episodes of the show. Today is my first day off in almost a month so I decided to play catch up. Then came the episode "Triple Threat".
When I first heard about it, first impressions was that there was bad blood between changelings and dragons over some event and that Spike would be the one to help them get over what happened thus making his friendship with Thorax and Ember a bit stronger, but that would make too much sense. Instead, Spike tries to keep the two separated......because reasons. He's then called upon to solve a friendship problem.....which he doesn't even solve, he makes the situation worse instead of introducing his friends to each other early on, is portrayed as the bad guy, and told that he solved a friendship problem when in fact he didn't. Ember and Thorax went off somewhere and talked it out; they solved the problem themselves.
This episode follows the same format. Spike fucks up, tries to fix it, fucks it up even more, but this time instead of the ponies (aka the superior race/gender) to come out of nowhere and fix his problem for him, two non ponies do it......without him. I was once called petty for saying that I refuse to watch any of Spike's episodes because of how the writers treat him and that I should watch them....well I did and here we are. This is seriously making me reconsider watching the MLP movie because of how he's been treated the past seven years. He's gonna get beaten up for no reason other than a cheap laugh, most likely gonna say or do something at the most inopportune time making everything unnecessarily awkward, and when the movie's climax hits, they'll pull a Canterlot Wedding and completely write him out of existence until the very end where he just shows up out of nowhere. Or if some miracle happens and he does participate in the movie's climax, he'll most likely get smacked around in some cheap comedy bit.
In short, i'm done. I'm done with Spike episodes, because they do nothing with the character except treat him like shit. Or if they do give him some kind of development in one episode, it's immediately ignored in the next.
I feel the same way I mean out of all characters why does he have to be the one that's looks bad season 6 was better for spike in my opinion
Yep
While I have to say they planned to publish this episode before Maud comes to Ponyville I will not say you are wrong, you have a good reason for not watch the next Spike episodes, and it will have one about Twilight will stay between her subjects and her family, this will be my last chance for them redeem themselves with Spike. If Spike stay with her family and enjoys a bit the vacations I will forgive them because Spike is part of Twilight's family, but if she involves Spike in the same crap plan she ever had and in the end it was her fault. I will blame them until the final season.
finally someone understands
The Most Recent Spike Episode gave him something that can't be ignored.
