(Okay guys, I've finished the VERY LONG description of the story, and I want to see if you think it's well written and entertaining. I also want to tip you guys off about what's actually going on in the story so you have an easier time making and perfecting your OCs. Without further ado, here's the FRICKING DESCRIPTION.)
ORDINIS LIBRA INTRO
The land of Equestria was once one of peace, prosperity, and security. To bring up issues of war and rebellion would have been nothing but folly and pessimism in those times, seen as nothing more than fairy tales. The Elements of harmony had saved the realm on a number of occasions in the past, but now things are different; the Elements ceased to function, and their bearers went into hiding. With Equestria without its protectors, a wave of unexplained chaos and anarchy spread throughout the land like a wave, claiming much of the territory once controlled by the royal sisters Celestia and Luna. The realm was shattered and plunged into a period of untold destruction.
Thirty years have passed since the day the Elements of Harmony lost their power and chaos plunged the world into a state of conflict. From the ashes of old Equestria, Celestia and Luna created the Equestrian Commonwealth: a number of united city-states ruled independently of one another by their own royalties, elite classes, and politicians. The Commonwealth discovered newfound strength in their new freedoms, no longer controlled directly by the two Princesses. The sisters now oversee from afar and only command the Commonwealth in situations of the utmost importance, such as war. As the world tried to hold itself together in this new state of chaos, a time of change was born: an age of steam and gunpowder and mysterious technologies. Industrial revolution rocked not only Equestrian Commonwealth, but the Griffon Republic, the Dragon Empire and the United Zebran Colonies, along with many other nations scattered across the world.
At the very infancy of the Commonwealth's rise to nationhood, Celestia and Luna sought a way to defend their nation from the darkness sweeping across the world. With the Elements lost to them, they sought other methods to combat the chaos closing in on their nation like an unending plague. They created an organization they named the Trium of Order. In the Trium's beginning, the two princesses sought out and recruited hundreds of the very best that the world had to offer: brilliant scientists, bold soldiers and knights, powerful mages and wizards, and countless others. Together, they held back the tide, with the help of a mysterious being. Some say the being was one of the Bearers returned to save Equestria from its final death, using the Elements of Harmony one last time; others say it was great being from another world, brought here by some unseen force to bring the nation back into balance; still more breathe word the being had been a deity come to give mercy to the world in its time of need. This last possibility gathered unbelievable popularity, giving rise to a new nationwide religion: The Cult of the Goddess. The cult praised the sisters as saints, and spread throughout the Commonwealth like wildfire. As the years passed, the Trium grew to a heightened state of power, creating three houses: House Scientia, House Martialis, and House Arcanis. No longer leading the nation solely between themselves, Celestia and Luna took charge of the Trium, becoming its leaders along with the addition of Prince Shining Armor.
Now the Trium stand watchful from within the Commonwealth, uprooting and destroying chaos wherever it may be found: rebels, false cults, daemons, criminals of dark means and traitors among the nation's very own ruling classes. Ruthless in their defense against chaos, the Trium is both feared and seen as the sole weapon powerful enough to guard Equestria from the darkness that almost put it to death. They put down any threaten the security of the nation and any that question them either disappear or are executed for treason against the Commonwealth. Besides the Cult of the Goddess, it is the most powerful organization in the Commonwealth and arguably the whole continent. Rebellions, terrorism, subterfuge within the city-states and the threat of open war all bear down on Equestria while a vicious, almost supernatural plague eats at the heart of the nation. Times are dark indeed, and it is hard to see the light.
