Entry #42- Personal Preferences · 5:18am Aug 20th, 2017
I notice these three episodes deal with a lot of preferences- whether it goes unnoticed, stubbornly clinging to tradition, or just guessing what someone likes over your own comfort. What do you think? Hear are my thoughts:
A Royal Problem- First of all: SPIKE has his own Throne at the Table of Harmony, yet Starlight gets sent out to fix a friendship problem first? Unfair. But mostly I really enjoyed this episode- any interaction between the Royal sisters is good to me. And sure, maybe this episode could’ve been aired a few seasons ago (a problem a certain newly made Princess could’ve caused, maybe?) but Starlight isn’t as awe-struck by the Princesses as Twilight is, so maybe that made her be able to stand up to them better.
Not Asking for Trouble- The baby yaks are adorable, I just wanna squeeze ‘em tight! You know what, strike that. I wanna see the Yaks and the Buffalo interact, and see how their cultures differ. It would be a more entertain premise than Pinkie Pie changing things behind the Yaks’ back and getting praised for it. Oh well.
Discordant Harmony- I really like this episode, especially for the lesson that your friends shouldn’t expect you to be a clone of yourself. Sure, you may have similar interests, but that doesn’t mean you’ll agree about every topic. I wanna go to one of Discord’s chaotic tea parties!
As for the Discord losing the chaotic spirit, I kinda liked the comic version in issues #48-50, as “Accord” posed a real threat with “order” magic.
Well, I’m not sure if I’ll have the next Last Unicorn Princess chapter ready next week, but I’m certainly working on it! I’ll post something here, though.
Until next week!
